Change is in the air! There are exciting things happening not only in my home, but also on my website. I am excited to share more and reveal everything this month with you! Here are some tidbits from my life last week as well as an accompanying photo recap with selections from my Instagram feed with you.
I’ve been contemplating changing some of the paint colors and other odds and ends in our home for the past year and decided this spring was the right time for these projects. We had our master bedroom and my home office (pictured above) repainted, a tile backsplash added in our kitchen, and new lights put into our basement stairway. I am incredibly happy with the finished results! I’ll share a closer look in a dedicated post soon for those who are interested.
I also started thinking about outside changes for summer. I bought hanging ferns for our front porch and am hoping to plant flowers in our beds and pots in the upcoming week. The weather, however, hasn’t been cooperating lately and has been unseasonably cold. Hopefully it will warm up again soon!
On Tuesday night, Don and I were fortunate to spend some time with our nephew Jacob and his girlfriend who were in town staying with my parents for a few days. Jacob is in the navy and between bases at the moment. We don’t get to see him very often, so it’s always a special treat when we spend time with him. My Mom and Dad teamed up to make an amazing grilled beer can chicken for dinner. Yum!
As for my upcoming online changes, work is well underway on the new website. Don, Winnie, and I flew out to Ohio last week for photo and video shoots for the site. We also paid a visit to ipsoCreative, the company I’ve hired to design and build my website. They’ve worked with me since February through every detail. We’re hoping to launch by the end of the month. I can’t wait for you guys to see it!
I vlogged during our trip if you’re interested in seeing more:
We returned home Friday night in time to enjoy a relaxing and fun weekend at home. Our friends came over on Saturday and we spent the day eating, chatting, and catching up. It’s difficult for the six of us to get together often because of everyone’s busy and conflicting schedules, so we try to make the most of it when we can. This basically translates to an all out food fest. We’re all foodies! There’s nothing quite like sharing good food with good friends.
The weather wasn’t very nice this weekend with temperatures dropping into the forties mixed with rain and wind. Winnie doesn’t mind at all, though, and we still enjoyed our daily walks together. Sunday was another fun day which began with relaxing at home and ended with an seeing amazing performance of Anything Goes at the Marriott Theatre and dinner at our favorite local Italian restaurant, Tuscany, with my parents.
All in all it was a full and well rounded week capped off by a wonderful weekend spent with loved ones. I’d love to hear how your week was if you care to share. I hope the sun is shining wherever you are!
Happy June!
