Hello, friends! It’s been a few weeks, I know. I have every intention of making this more of a weekly post, but I’m still settling into a regular blog posting schedule. I apologize for the long break between WIR’s, but I have very good news to share. It’s been quite the week of happy occasions in our family and circle of friends!
New Addition To The Family
Some of you may already know that Don’s sister, Emily, was expecting her first child with her husband Dave this month. Yes, I said was! Baby Grace was born on Monday, May 20, 2013 weighing in at 7 lb 11 oz and measuring 19″ long. Our family is head over heels in love with this little strawberry blonde girl! Don and I are incredibly blessed to be so close to our family and be able to share our lives with each other, including both the good and the hard times, ups and downs, and gains and losses. We gained a precious new niece with the birth of Grace! Emily requested our presence during part of her labor and we were able to visit just a few hours after the birth. It’s so nice to be able to literally walk down the street to visit anytime Emily and Dave need our help. I can definitely foresee some babysitting in our future! I am smitten with this little girl and am looking very much forward to watching her grow.
Weddings Are Fun!
Don and I traveled down to South Bend, Indiana this past weekend to participate in the wedding of our dear friends. We were actually both in the groom’s party! It was a fun-filled weekend with lots of catching up, laughing, dancing, and good times galore. It’s such a beautiful thing to watch two people commit to a lifetime together. The event setting was absolutely gorgeous located on a walnut tree farm. The charming country theme made the wedding day feel like something straight out of a movie. So romantic! I love how our closest friends are now all in the “Married Club,” as we like to call it. It was truly special to witness their union and dance away the evening with loved ones!
This was a bit of a shorter WIR post than usual, but that’s not to take away from the significance of last week’s events. I am overwhelmed by all of the love in my life right now. I feel so blessed to be able to share in the joy of my loved ones. Life is sweet! I hope you have a sweet day 🙂
