Week In Review (May 20 – 26, 2013)

Hello, friends!  It’s been a few weeks, I know.  I have every intention of making this more of a weekly post, but I’m still settling into a regular blog posting schedule.  I apologize for the long break between WIR’s, but I have very good news to share.  It’s been quite the week of happy occasions in our family and circle of friends!

New Addition To The Family

Some of you may already know that Don’s sister, Emily, was expecting her first child with her husband Dave this month.  Yes, I said wasBaby Grace was born on Monday, May 20, 2013 weighing in at 7 lb 11 oz and measuring 19″ long.  Our family is head over heels in love with this little strawberry blonde girl!  Don and I are incredibly blessed to be so close to our family and be able to share our lives with each other, including both the good and the hard times, ups and downs, and gains and losses.  We gained a precious new niece with the birth of Grace!  Emily requested our presence during part of her labor and we were able to visit just a few hours after the birth.  It’s so nice to be able to literally walk down the street to visit anytime Emily and Dave need our help.  I can definitely foresee some babysitting in our future!  I am smitten with this little girl and am looking very much forward to watching her grow.

Weddings Are Fun!

Don and I traveled down to South Bend, Indiana this past weekend to participate in the wedding of our dear friends.  We were actually both in the groom’s party!  It was a fun-filled weekend with lots of catching up, laughing, dancing, and good times galore.  It’s such a beautiful thing to watch two people commit to a lifetime together.  The event setting was absolutely gorgeous located on a walnut tree farm.  The charming country theme made the wedding day feel like something straight out of a movie.  So romantic!  I love how our closest friends are now all in the “Married Club,” as we like to call it.  It was truly special to witness their union and dance away the evening with loved ones!

This was a bit of a shorter WIR post than usual, but that’s not to take away from the significance of last week’s events.  I am overwhelmed by all of the love in my life right now.  I feel so blessed to be able to share in the joy of my loved ones.  Life is sweet!  I hope you have a sweet day 🙂

  1. I’m glad your week was great! My weekend wasn’t that great (one of the worst in a while!), but that’s okay because there is always Jen to make me happy again! Was looking forward to your video and post today just to cheer me up! So happy to see little Grace and the whole wedding setup! Both are beautiful! Hope you had a great time and this upcoming week is just as good!

  2. What a wonderful time-a gorgeous new addition and a beautiful wedding. Glad you’ve had such a fab time and still manage to post for us lot! Don’t know how you do it! Lol!x

  3. Grace is so beautiful. Congrats to your family! The wedding looked beautiful. There’s a place near my house that hosts weddings in a dairy barn, and it looks very similar. I didn’t have my wedding there, but it looks so quaint and adorable. I’m glad that you had fun!

  4. I lived in South Bend my whole life and have never heard of a Walnut Tree Farm…. learn something new everyday!

  5. So many blessed events. I’m so happy for the Ross clan and your new little addition. She is so precious and looks like such a little angel. I can’t wait to hear all about her special stories and all her firsts. (Maybe it’s time for Emily to start a blog or YT channel? What a great way to chronicle this joyous time.) It’s such an exciting time for everyone in love with her.

Your friends wedding was so charming. Loved all her little accents from the cake stands, to the hat box and all those gorgeous flowers! You looked radiant in your blush dress. I really enjoyed seeing Don in that searsucker suit. It reminds me of shopping at Brooks Brothers… so classic… so preppy and most definitely… so handsome. I didn’t hear you mention or see a shot of the wedding cake (and lets face it, other than the bride, it’s the most important part of the celebration – lol!) Do share… yummy? flavored? or was it maybe a wedding pie? (I saw a pecan pie in one of those tiny pictures… mmm… )

Thank for sharing your wonderful week overflowing with happiness!

    1. There was a wide selection of wedding pies. I didn’t actually eat any of them, I was too busy dancing the night away! Good times were had by all 🙂

  6. Congratulations on the new arrival. A beautiful baby girl. Thanks for all you share – I really enjoy reading your blog and your YouTube Videos make me feel good! It’s so nice to listen to someone so positive and happy in what can tend to be such a negative world. Thanks again.

  7. I started watching your you tube videos when I searched Disney videos on my phone to entertain me while I’m at work. ( I’m a nanny for one year old twin girls so my down time is their nap time) and loved watching your blogs. I love that your so detailed and sweet in your videos. I don’t really understand the whole subscribing thing in blogs… Or what it really means I am not a computer or iPhone literate really. But I can say I do like watching your videos and events/ vacations you take us on. By the way congrats on baby grace I love babies, and she’s adorable. Thanks for making my long 10.5 hour days go by with some entertainment and adult conversations!

  8. Love all your videos Jen! You are auch a sweet and amazing person! I hope God blesses you abundantly every day of your life 🙂

Thank you for keeping me entertained while I nuts my 7 month old 🙂
