My Week In Review (otherwise known as WIR) posts are just that: a review of my past week. I post an update here every Tuesday sharing some tidbits of my previous week as well as an accompanying photo recap with selections from my Instagram. Here’s the buzz from my week:
As much as I love going on vacation, there’s truly no place like home, especially when that home includes my dog Winnie! I really missed my little girl, as I always do when we’re apart. She was well taken care of by her Aunt Julie, which is nice because I don’t worry about her when I’m away. Seeing her lying at my feet as I journal at night brings a smile to my heart. I spent the bulk of last week playing catch up between household tasks and my work schedule. Don was away on business all week, so the house was pretty quiet with just me and my girl. I miss my DH terribly whenever we’re apart, but we message all throughout the day and talk on the phone every night so we can still share with each other. Don had a gorgeous bouquet sent to me at the beginning of the week to enjoy while he was away that is still very fresh and lovely even now! He’s such a thoughtful guy. Other than that, it was a pretty normal week filled with some gorgeous weather that inspired me to swap out to my new summer bag, the lovely Kate Spade Cobbie Hill Little Curtis, a perfect mint blue beauty!
A few other fun tidbits I pulled off my Instagram from last week I wanted to share:
✻ I am obsessed with the Citrus Zinger water bottle that came in my May PopSugar Must Have Box. This product is so cool! I recommend checking out their website to see all of the other cool designs they have and learn more about how it works. My current favorite combination is a quarter lemon with a whole bunch of mint leaves in the bottom. I drink about 40 ounces of this infused water a day (and the rest just plain water). Discovering great products like this is what I love most about my PopSugar Must Have subscription.
✻ I reached 130 miles out of the #150BySummer in the Tone It Up #BikiniSeries challenge. Today I hit 140 (I’ve added a mile due to #133 being absent – thanks for the head’s up on that!) and I still have a week and a half left of the challenge. I know I will easily meet this goal in the next few days. I have loved this challenge and am feeling fit and healthy with summer approaching!
✻ New luggage alert! I took advantage of the travel sale (which recently ended) on the Erin Condren website and ordered one of their gorgeous suitcases to test out this summer. I’ve never owned a hard-sided suitcase before and am eager to put it to the test! There was a bit of a snafu with my order in which the other side of the bag was accidentally decorated with a rejected design quote, but the nice folks at Erin Condren swiftly accepted responsibility and offered to replace the bag. I really like this company, if you couldn’t already tell! FYI – The Erin Condren website is in the process of being revamped and the travel category is not currently active. I was assured that they will still be offering this luggage.
We spent a wonderful weekend with friends, family, and just our little family. On Friday night we went downtown to visit our dear friends who are moving to Milwaukee. Although I know we will still get together often, as Milwaukee is not that far from us, it was still a little bittersweet to be hanging out in the city one last time before the move. We ended the evening sharing some Nutella deliciousness at Eataly. On Saturday, we headed back downtown to catch the matinee of In The Garden at Lookingglass Theatre. We have seen many shows in this great space over the years and are always blown away by their productions. Don and I both thoroughly enjoyed and recommend catching this “Darwinian love story” if you’re in the area! It runs through June 29, 2014.
We enjoyed a “lazy” Sunday together with lots of fresh air. We walked into town for Starbucks in the morning and then walked back again in the evening for dinner at Yard House with our pup. I love being able to dine al fresco with her! While Don played golf in the afternoon, I finalized the details of our trip to Disney World later this year. That’s right, we’re going back! After an impromptu trip to Disneyland earlier this year for my birthday, I didn’t think we would go to Disney World this year, especially since I am not running in any of the half marathons. We just couldn’t stay away, I guess! We were talking about it for a couple of weeks and decided to just go. If you can swing it, why not? I’ve now booked our flights, special tickets, and dining, so we’re all set for our trip in December. How exciting!

In addition to Disney World, we have several other fun trips planned this year and I look forward to sharing them with you. I’d love to know if you have any trips or staycations in the works this summer, fall, or winter. Feel free to share if you’d like! Safe travels & happy trails 🙂
