Travel Makeup | Summer 2015

I’ve been traveling quite a bit this summer and I thought it would be fun to share a look at what’s in my travel makeup bag.

I love the Basics Black 4 Piece Train Case Set from Ulta that helps keep my cosmetics and related tools organized.  It’s roomy, easy to pack, and perfect to store while traveling so my makeup is kept tidy all in one place.  Here’s a look at what I’ve been packing in it lately:

  1. Could you give me a big selection of your favorite travel purses. They can be nylon and/or leather. I have to buy some for gifts. They have totes so you don’t have to include them. They tend to carry a lot. I know the one girl likes leather crossbodys. Thank you and congratulations on your news.

  2. Hi, Jen. I appreciate you sharing your travel case strategy and the products you bring. Very helpful.

I assume that you have Global Entry or TSA Precheck, since you have your liquid makeup products in separate, opaque cases and not together in a ziplock bag. I wonder what you would change if you did not have this status with U.S. airlines–or, for example–if you were traveling outside the United States. I am thinking of trying Bobby Brown’s foundation stick for travel, and trying to reduce overall the number of small liquid bottles that I bring with me when I travel (although I do have Global Entry).

    1. This is how I pack my bag for checked luggage, which you don’t need to separate your liquids and gels for.

  3. I love watching all of your make-up and favorites video’s. You was actually the first to introduce me to Sephora. I’m on a budget and have tried several Sephora brand products such as lipstick and eyeliner. I love them. As I watch your video I wonder how you feel about the Sephora store brand? I do purchase name brand things but some things such as lipstick, few eye shadow’s and nail polish remover have been great as well. So I guess the big question that is on my mind How much am I missing by not buying some of the name brand stuff? I know you keep your items for a log time is the name brand more of investment as well?
Good Luck with all the New happenings can’t wait for new blogs and video’s.

    1. To be honest, I haven’t purchased many Sephora brand makeup in the past, but the tools that I have by their brand I really like, including a nice foundation brush, the best rubber spoolies out there, and blotting linens.

  4. Hi Jen!
Recently found your blog and videos and I’ve really enjoyed your posts so thanks for sharing! I’m curious as to whether you really use all of these beauty supplies when you travel or if there are a lot of “just in case” options included? I ask because I often travel with 5-6 products total. I’m sure my regimen leaves a lot to be desired…maybe I’ll go have a look at your videos for a makeup how to? Keep up the fun and informative posts and again thanks for sharing.
    All the best,
    Kristin

    1. I actually really do use all of them with the exception of my mini makeup remover and cotton swabs which are “just in case” items.
