The Bag Buzz: Mulberry Daria Wrist Clutch

Since I was still using the Michael Kors Selma Medium Satchel I shared in last month’s Bag Buzz, I thought this month I would tkj about the bag I’ve been favoring for dates, outings, and special events this winter.

The Mulberry Daria Wrist Clutch (sadly unavailable at this time) is a small wristlet style bag made from an exquisite soft spongy black leather with gold hardware and embellishments.  I picked up this beauty during my first trip to a Mulberry store while visiting San Francisco in August 2012.  I had settled on the beautiful Mulberry Alexa Satchel (which I posted about here if you’re interested) and had no intention of buying something else as a Mulberry purchase is always a big one when I caught sight of the clutch in a case.  I remember asking to see it, as I was immediately taken with its simple yet beautiful design, particularly the large gold circular emblem on the front with Mulberry’s emblem, the Mulberry tree, and the beautiful braided strap.  As soon as I held that exquisite leather in my hands I knew I would deeply regret not taking it, so I came home from my first Mulberry shopping experience with not one but two beauties in tow.

The bag itself is extremely versatile, considering how small it is.  It is a simple pouch design with no organizational elements built in, but can fit quite a bit without feeling cramped.  I love how I can carry the bag under my arm if I need my hands free, but it’s also just as comfortable carried on my arm or in hand thanks to the short length of the strap.  It has a clip attachment and can be used wristlet style as well, although I prefer to keep the strap attached handbag-style.

As I mentioned, I can fit quite a lot into the pouch considering its small size measuring in at just 7.5″ long x 5″ tall x 1″ deep.  If I’m just going out to dinner or to someone’s house for a short engagement, I usually just throw my card case, phone, a mirror and my lip products in.  I can also conformably fit my vlogging camera (a Canon PowerShot ELPH 330HS) as well.  If I am going to a longer event, particularly a party or a day out, I will take my Mini Walking Pharmacy.  It’s a bit tighter to also fit my other necessities as well as my vlogging camera with the mini walking pharmacy as well, but I can manage.

Here is what I keep in my Mulberry Daria Wrist Pouch:

1. Vera Bradley Coin Purse (My Mini Walking Pharmacy) – See below image and following description for exact contents.

2. Henri Bendel West 57th Card Case – So versatile when you need only a few items from your main wallet and it fits in every size bag.  I love to travel with mine as well.

3. iPhone with Case Mate Barely There Fully Customizable Case – Don’t leave home without my phone! Love this fully customizable case option from Zazzle.  You can have any image printed on it that you like!

4. Bite Beauty Lush Lip Tint in Watermelon & bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Take Charge – The only makeup item I ever reapply when I’m out with any consistency is my lip product (or products) of choice.

Here is what I keep in my Mini Walking Pharmacy:

1. Purse Hook (I really like this foldable option as an alternative) – Perfect to keep you bag right by you, hanging off the table instead of on the floor or hanging off your chair.

2. Hair clip, bobby pins, & hair ties – In the event of a Hairmergency.

3. Naturally Clean Stain Eraser – My favorite on-the-go stain remover wipe.

4. Crystal Essence Mineral Deodorant Towelette – Effective, discreet, and conveniently-sized in-a-pinch item!

5. Henri Bendel Compact Mirror – Love having a bit of a fancier mirror on hand for fancier occasions.

6. Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens – I am always grateful to have these for longer outings or events to help keep my skin from becoming too oily.

7. Gal Pal Everything Tape – Do not undervalue the importance of a little double-sided tape for fashion emergencies.

8. Bandaids – Because sometimes heels are pretty but painful.

  1. I just thought I’d point out that you called it a ‘flogging’ camera! lol 🙂 In all serious though, I LOVE this little bag! Thanks for sharing Jen!x

  2. I absolutely love my Mulberry. A treasured item for sure. Next time I am in the US I must make a point to check out Henri Bendel. I think I would love their products. Have a lovely day, Jen.

  3. Thanks for sharing!! It’s such a cute bag. I’ve checked out the Mulberry website and LOVE those purses…I’ve recently gotten a lot of my friends to watch your video on the Alexia Bag…and just watching the videos we talk about how the leather looks as smooth as butter…LOL !!! My go to clutch is the MK Large JetSet wristlet not quite as big but just as functual.. Again, Thanks for sharing!

  4. Hello Jen. What a cute bag. I always swap out my bag from day to night for going out or events. I collect clutch bags so I usually look for one that best matches my outfit. Thanks for sharing your video and for the lovely giveaway. x Nadia

  5. that bag is sooooo cute! I have a wristlet. but because I don’t use it often it just feels so strange to have such a small bag with me, I think im a big bag kinda girl

  6. Hi Jen and Winnie! I have an adorable little black leather bag by Daniel Cassin for when I go out. It seems to be about the same size as this clutch of yours, but mine has a cross shoulder strap. As always thank you for sharing! / Clara

  7. I love using my Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in Rose Gold for special occasions. I love having a bag that can be either cross body or worn over the shoulder; I hate carrying things in my hands!

  8. I really like that you’ve started including pictures of you holding your bags, so we get a good idea of relative size. Thanks! 🙂

  9. Hi Jen.

I have an adorable little black sparkly bag it’s not name bran or anything spechell but I love it for when I go out. It’s a bit smaller then yours and it has a hard case but it’s also a bit longer then yours. But’s it’s best fretcher is that it has this little golden chain strap that is long-enough that I can ware it crossed body as I have very small shoulders that my purses and bags fall off of unless I ware them cross body. seems to be about the same size as this clutch of yours, but mine has a cross shoulder strap.

Thank you for sharing! And I hope to win as it be nice to own something top of the like nam bran. And you prize is supper cute.

  10. Cute bag! A little out of my price range since I am a college student, but a great idea if I could find something similar at the Walmart or Target in my area! I wanted to put in a video request for the Draw my Life tag..every youtuber says they’re nervous to do it/aren’t a good drawer/people won’t want to see it/whatever reasons and they always get overwhelmingly encouraging and positive responses. So please at least consider it! I would love to see that in a video!

    Thanks for sharing,
    Emily

  11. What a fabulous giveaway! Would love to win something with the infamous HB stripes as these stores don’t exist in the UK. You are a very generous lady Jen. Miss your Vlogs; you are such a happy soul it makes you easy to watch, a breath of fresh air after a day in a stuffy office! Take care of you! x

  12. I love your ideas! I am new to following blogs and more. Still a bit overwhelmed w learning how it all works. Keep up the Vlogs! I enjoy them and also look forward to seeing what you come up with! 🙂

  13. Love it! A lady sat next to me when i was having a pedi, she had one !! I was sneaking a look 😉 I love the wrist strap …Perfect!

  14. I loved this video/blog post! I am so weird though! When i am just going shopping or on a trip i use a cross body small bag. When i go to a party or some other event lile that i will use a bigger handbag! Also, my favorite bag right now is an off brand purse from catos lol. But i am saving my moolah to get a cute D&B handbag. Preferably a disney themed one 🙂

  15. Jen,
So glad you did a purse video today. Really cute. I wanted to tell you that I received my first Lonchamp Le Pliage bag today. OMG, love it. Perfect size. Perfect for travel and every day use. It took me a long time to get to this point. Oh, also got a Cambridge Satchel based on some comments of your viewers. Love IT!. Very me. Though boxy and stiff. Not for everyone.

Also, wanted to ask what kind of camera you use for the photos on your blog? Is it the Canon Powershot you mentioned. I am looking for a small good quality digital for purse. Thank you.

  16. My favourite evening bag is a neutral coloured clutch made by Balenciaga or a black envelope style by Tori Burch 🙂
Thanks for hosting this giveaway. I sooooo wish Canada had a Henri Bendel!!

  17. I love that bag, gorgeous! But would expect nothing less from mulberry! 🙂 I would def wear it as a wristlet though, for some reason I love holding my bag, makes me feel all dressed up! At the moment I have a hard case clutch that’s gold from accessorize but it fits virtually nothing and I hate having my cash and cards loose! so thinking of switching out to a larger black clutch I own with gold hardware (not sure of the brand) that I got when I was in India. It’s cute but has more organisational components built in! Would share pic if I knew how! 🙂 the card case is so pretty and so handy, never seen anything like that! Love Henri Bendel…wish it was available outside of the USA but don’t see him opening a store in Ireland any time soon! 🙂 hope u are keeping well Jen! Xx

    1. I know many other brands sell card cases. Tory Burch has very nice ones, but I’ve also seen great less expensive alternatives elsewhere. Bought one from the Gap outlet years ago that I keep out at the Utah house.

  18. Perfect timing! I’m attending a wedding this month and am trying to figure out what I can fit/need into my Kate Spade clutch. Thank you for the inspiration!

  19. Hey there, Jen!
I’ve been searching for this particular bag for a year! I finally found one online from a seller who claims is it brand new, and a legit Mulberry. Two questions I’d really appreciate your help with.
    1. How can I tell if it is, indeed, a genuine Mulberry?
    2. How much was it’s original cost? They are claiming it was $500.00 originally.

    Thanks so much for reading.
    -Julia

    1. I’m not sure I am qualified to instruct you on how legit a bag is online. All I know for sure is that mine cost just over $300 new. Sorry I cannot be more helpful!

  20. I love the braided strap on this bag too, thanks for sharing your tips, I’m always over-stuffing evening bags! What a generous giveaway as well, love that mirror!
Missing your vlogs… and a bit bummed we didn’t get to “share” your Arizona trip, hope you enjoyed the getaway!

  21. Beautiful bag! The leather looks so soft. How sweet of you to host such a nice giveaway. I was in Texas last month and there was a Henri Bendel store in the mall connected to our hotel. I’d never seen one of the stores before. I can understand why you like their products.

  22. Hi Jen!

I would love for you to do an updated handbag video. The one and only video I saw I believe was the one in your closet about a year or two ago, I think. Some of the bags you showed in that video you auctioned on Ebay, so can you do an updated video? I’m sure your fans would love that. Love your channels!

    take care,
    Jess

    1. I have been receiving some requests for that as of late. So, perhaps after my next closet overhaul I will 🙂

  23. Jen, I love your taste in handbags. My favorite bag for evening is a tiny little Whiting and Davis International bag in silver that has a really long chain that will go either cross body, over the shoulder or can be tucked inside the bag. Soooo cute! Not very practical but just right for a lipstick, mirror and maybe a little cash. I found it in a little antique shop and it was love at first sight.

  24. Jen, I am not sure if you have mentioned this or not but there is an online sale at Bendel’s right now.

20% OFF $150+. USE CODE SPRING20 AT CHECKOUT. FREE SHIPPING.

  25. My go-to clutches are both small, made of very soft leather and can hold quite a bit in them…I got my first clutch (pink-purple and black pattern…don’t remember the brand name but I got it from a store called Browns) for my senior prom in June 2013 to match with my dress. It was love at first sight when I bought it because I was able to fit my point-and-shoot camera, my cell phone, my small “fashion crisis”, a mirror, my lip products and some money. My second go-to clutch was given to me as a “thank you” gift from the bridal party at my cousin’s wedding over Christmas 2013. My cousin’s wife got it from a local boutique in her hometown in France. In it I had packed: a whole lot of blister plasters, the wedding and Christmas Eve Mass programs, small Post-It notes with reminders, my cue cards with my speeches, my guitar pick, my clarinet reed, tissues, my cell phone, my iPod, my DS, and my “fashion crisis” kit. My cousin’s wife had all members of the bridal party have their initials monogrammed on each bag, along with the wedding date, plus it matched perfectly my dress for the wedding, the dress for Christmas Eve Mass, and the outfit that I wore for New Year’s Day. I also wore it to my brother’s senior prom and graduation in June 2014. All in all, I’m very pleased with my bags. I think that they’re perfect for the amount of things that it can hold! LOL 😉
