Stocking Stuffers: Holiday Gift Guide 2013

For the third and final installment of my 2013 Holiday Gift Guide, I am sharing some of my favorite Stocking Stuffers available this year.  This includes presents in the $20 or less price range that are small enough to fit into most Christmas stockings.  One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is stuffing stockings with little gifts for my family.  There are a few places I return to each year for these types of gifts, such as Target and The Container Store, but then there are also great picks I find over the course of the year at other shops as well.  I thought I would share some of my 2013 finds with you in the hopes that it might give you some ideas for your own friends and family.

  1. Jen,
I bought the Hugo Natural bath bombs directly from the company because I live in the middle of nowhere.lol Love them!! They also sent a piece of their soap along with the bath bombs. I really enjoyed the soap too. Thanks for recommending them.

    1. I actually did just find them on the website & updated the link on the post – love how they sell the set of all three for a discounted price!

  2. I just have to let you know that I think you are an amazing and generous person. I have watched your channels for almost two years now, I dont comment much but find the content fantastic. You have grown into an amazing host and I love to see you have a new video in my feed! Have a wonderful Christmas. Mine is going to be a bit sparse this year as I lost my job in 2011 and have not succeeded in finding a new one, but your holiday videos have added that seasonal spark to my holidays!

  3. Wow, these are almost all income-generators for you either through affiliate links or coupon codes or referral links. It’s getting harder and harder to take your recommendations seriously, Jen. 🙁 You used to be one of the best people for genuine recommendations, but it’s proven fact that when you are paid for something or stand to make a kick-back or commission, you cannot be objective about the recommendation so please don’t tell us you’d have the same list if you were not getting paid if we go buy this stuff. This list is heavily influenced by your desire to make money.

And you get paid for your views from YouTube, why do you need to do this??? Way to water down your brand, which used to actually be an oasis in the money-hungry wasteland that is the TY beauty community. No more.

There is a reason the FTC has rules about disclosure, and it is because consumers should know when a “recommendation” is really just a ploy to get a commission. I guess you rode that Sigma affiliation all the way down the slippery slope and here you are, picking pennies from rstyle.me links and pushing over-priced planners onto people who once trusted you and your recommendations.

    1. I want to assure you that I always pick the products I want to share before adding or even checking for affiliate links. I only share products I truly love and use. That doesn’t change whether there is an affiliate link or not. That being said, I do not think it is such a crime to try to generate an income from my time and effort. I suggest reading this blog post about my thoughts on affiliate links and monetization.

      1. The fact that you make a dime off anything and someone actually has a problem with that is absurd!! The endless time, effort, money and genuine love you put into every single video is proof you deserve whatever someone chooses to give you. Those that truly watch for reasons other than to spread negativity, being rude or pointing out things that absolutly do not effect their lives in the least, know you are honest and stay true to yourself. Not to mention, many of the companies also offer discounts to your watchers. Even the ridiculous watchers!!! Its a win win. Now, go have some tea and spend time with your hubby and pooch and stop thinking you have to comment to the “ridiculous”. Its just not necessary. Merry Christmas Jen!

      2. Well said Jen!! I totally agree with you. If you put in the time and effort to do something, why not reap a reward?? And if it is making people happy, then that’s double the reward for you 😀 I have got some seriously good ideas for gifts for my family and friends. So thank you 🙂 I’ve entered the giveaway too 🙂 Merry christmas to you, Don and Winnie. Keep up the excellent work 🙂 much love xoxo

    2. Wow,you really went in on her.I have to admit after watching this video I feel the same way.I don’t have a problem with Jen making money.I just wish she would be honest about it.But to be honest I’m not so happy about these items. They’re nowhere like the items she had in her pass videos on stocking stuffers, they look like over price junk.Sorry to say.

      1. I believe I have been very honest and up front about monetization. Like I said before, I picked out all of my gift ideas for the series well before looking to see if they were available as affiliate links for me. If you have been watching my videos for awhile, you will know that I shop at these places all of the time for personal items and gifts. Just because they happen to qualify for affiliate links does not by any means change how I pick items to share in my videos and blog posts.

        1. Jen ,if you read my comment you’ll have notice I said I have no problem with you making any money. Its just lately you’ve been sounding like a use car salesman.”Buy this, its great, you’ll love it”In your ‘Holiday Backing” video you talked more about the “Eagle Creek” bag than what you were packing. After awhile one have to think are you really recommending these item or is it a sales pitch. But WHATEVER.

  4. Oh my I do not own nor have I ever received a Christmas stocking before. I have already purchased gifts for all my friends and family ,, I think next year I will purchase pretty stockings and fill them with amazing ideas you have chosen to put inside! Thanks a bunch, Jen <3 Happy Holidays!

  9. Jen,

I watch your vlogs and read your blog all the time. Lately its been daily. You have inspired me as a woman, wife, and mother. I have applied many of your tips and have been blessed beyond measure. This past Thanksgiving was one of the best as I was well prepared for my guests using your videos as my guide. I’m learning to take time out to plan, prepare, and organize my home, career, and life. Thank you for your generosity! Merry Christmas to you, Don, and Princess Winnie!

  10. I think you’re awesome Jen, such a generous person to be giving such gifts away. I just want to say thanks for taking the time out of your day to share your life with us.

  11. Jen,
I enjoy watching your videos (on all of your YouTube channels) and recently bought my first EVER Bath and Body Works candles ($9.00 each on Cyber Monday). I like how you will often have a triple-wick candle lit in the background of your videos and it inspired me to buy some. I usually use Yankee Candles, but the Bath and Body Works candles seem to burn more evenly and cleaner.

I would also like to mention that I like how you handle yourself with grace when faced with comments by viewers that are not very nice or who make accusatory statements. The majority of viewers enjoy your posts, so I hope you will always feel encouraged to make more videos. They are informative and useful. I have also enjoyed watching Don’s videos, especially the ones in which he talks about finances and economic topics. He has a clear and concise way of making a difficult and complex topic easier to understand.

    Have a joyous Christmas!

  12. I have followed you for three years now you always make me smile. Thank you for sharing your life ! I hope you & your family have a very Merry Christmas!!!!

Thank you for another wonderful year of vlogmas, they were short, but oh so sweet, and all the time and effort was very much appreciated. I was only able to check one of the boxes when asked which of your formats do I like the best. But, I would just like to add, that I love your blog. It’s one of the most beautiful and well-written blogs on the Internet, and I love the beautiful photographs and how you always have a post here as a follow-up to your videos. Thank you again, for your time and dedication.
