Spring Decor Tour (2014)

Today I am sharing a vlog-style tour of the spring decor I currently have displayed in my home.  I love to decorate with little knick-knacks and festive touches for the different seasons.  While I do tend to decorate in a similar way year after year and have shared a spring decor tour in years past on OLJ, I have received so many requests lately I decided to go ahead and share again.  If it all looks familiar to you, it’s because I don’t often buy new things for my home but choose instead to reuse favorite pieces year to year.  Please note that in all of the pictures I share the items range in age from five to nine years old.  I only mention this in case some of you are interested in the items you see here so you know they are probably no longer available.  I explain where each item is from in the coordinating video.

Check out the slideshow below to see some of the spring touches in my home:

If you’d like a more thorough look, please check out my Spring Decor Tour video below:

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorate my home for spring.  I would love to know what spring decor you keep in your home.  Please leave a comment below or tweet me a picture if you care to share!

Happy Spring!

  1. Jen! I missed you! So glad your back! Was so surprised this morning to see a video on My Housewife life channel! It truly made my day! Thank you so much for sharing your home, I don’t care how many times you’ve shown your decor…I never get tired of it! I love it all! Take Care! Crossing my fingers for more videos 🙂

  2. Great tour my dear! I love your pillows! Thanks for tagging me for the TMI tag. On my list to film…soon!…ish 😉

  3. Thank you so much for sharing Jen! I love all of your decorations and how they’re placed throughout your house. Your house is absolutely gorgeous. Did you decorate your entire house yourself? Your furniture and the design layout of your house is spectacular! My sister – in – law had outlets installed above her kitchen cabinets. She puts some greenery, large bunnies and lighted easter eggs. You would love it.

    1. I had a little help picking out the paint colors for the bathrooms as well as the beautiful runner for our stairs from a family friend who is a designer, but otherwise I decorated everything else myself. I spent the better part of a year dreaming and scheming before we moved in 🙂

  4. we made sugar eggs years and years ago…Joanns and Hobby Lobby carry kits…they do last years and years. but its good you left the wrapper on it…. ours were about 10+ years old and a young nephew came along and licked it… it turned brown within a week! lol. I love your shelf decorations in your kitchen/eating area! how sweet… much love

  5. Jen…I just love how you decorate your house for all the holidays and seasons! You really do a great job! Thanks so much for sharing that:) I have a question for you. Will you by chance be doing a “What’s In My Shower/Tub” video for Spring? I am just curious and would love it if you did!:) Those videos give me lots of ideas for different products to try:) I went to a Lush store for the first time yesterday, came home with lots of goodies and can tell you I just love everything so far! The Big shampoo, American Cream conditioner, Lemony Flutter and a few other things…all of them amazing!;) We have sunshine and spring temps today and yesterday here in Ohio, hope you are getting some sunshine too in Chicago!

  6. Hi Jen! I love watching your videos and I especially love your home décor! I was inspired to go and put out my large bunny on my kitchen island after watching. I also picked up some choc marshmallow eggs so I’m trying to use them to decorate instead of eating them (my latest addiction!lol) Lindt chocs are the best! I was in Target this morning and saw the wreaths you mentioned – they are very pretty with the colors they have now – pastel but more vivid! Happy to see you – have a great week – Jeannette

  7. You, Don & Miss Winnie have a beautiful home Jen. You’ve created such a warm, cheerful enviroment. It truly reflects your personality! Makes me want to stop by for a cup of tea & some girl talk 😉
I’ve actually tried to post pics & such to your facebook wall (as I’m not on twitter) but I was not successful 🙁 Not sure what I did wrong to tell you the truth, (I’m feeling pretty sure it is operator error) 😉
There are a few things I want to share with you – I’ll give it a go again.
It’s a beautiful sunny day in Kelowna, BC today! I hope spring has found its way to you too. Sophia & I went on a nice long walk this morning, it’s the perfect temperature for my long hair Shih Tzu, she loves it.
Wishing you orange breasted robins, pussy-willows & clear star-lit nights 🙂
    Have a beautiful day,
    Shaunie

  8. So nice to see your smiling face again! I recognize most of the decor from previous years but it;s always fun to see it put out again. I use the same decor year after year; That is what makes it special! Wishing you and beautiful spring and blessed Easter to you and your family:))

  9. Hi Jen!

I agree with Erica, I NEVER GET TIRED of seeing your home décor. I get so many ideas! I am so loving your pot holders. They don’t make cut stuff like that anymore, so bummed!

Thank you for sharing with us!

Hope you and your family are doing well! Happy Spring!

    🙂

  10. Jen,

Your house looks beautiful. I too love to decorate for each holiday my husband and I celebrate. Easter is definitely one we do, although I haven’t had much time to decorate for Easter yet. We just started a church in September, so most of my focus has been there. Happy Ressurection Day to you and yours.! God bless!

  11. I missed you, too! I was late to the youtube world. I just started watching videos about a year ago. And MHWL was the first channel that really caught my interest. I’ve since found a couple of other vloggers to watch, but you’re still my favorite. I enjoyed seeing your spring decor. I put out a fun butterfly felt basket that I got at Target and filled it with my favorite Easter candy, Peepsters. So yummy!! Hope to see more vlogs soon. Best wishes!

  12. I’ve done an Easter home tour today on my channel
please go give it a look

  13. Was pleasantly surprised (and ever so happy) to see a new video posted today. I was actually just starting to watch another one of your videos (which I do everyday, while the kids are napping and I have my after lunch tea) and then checked facebook and saw you posted a new one, so I watched that! I love your decor. I was just wondering if you remember where you got your shelves in your breakfast room and the wall color in your kitchen. Thanks so much and I hope to see more videos from you soon!

    Cheers & Take Care,
    Jen

  14. Dear Jen, I was pleasently surprised to see a spring time décor vlog posted! Have really missed your vlogs! I love all your seasonal décor you put out for each season. Your home always looks so lovely!!

  15. So glad to see you’re back! I definitely missed your videos! Beautiful decorations, as always. Don’t stash away so long next time, OK? I have learned the hard way how to ignore the nonsense that others will speak to/about you. You are loved!

  16. Seeing this video in my subscription box literally made my day! 😀 you have no idea, I’ve watched all of your home decor tours and never get tired of it.

  17. Jen..I LOVED the tour!! Your home is lovely and full of inspiration!! No matter how many tours you do it is always fun!! I know you are not wanting to do your vlogs much anymore but this is truly where you shine. The inspiration of your vlogs is a gift…many people try but just don’t have the audience that your personality has….thanks so much for a great MHWL today!!

  18. Hey You! Good to see a vlog-style video again 🙂
I live in a really small apartment so I can barely fit my regular stuff. Still, I have a home and I am thankful for that! But love how you have special things for each season and holiday. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!

  19. Yay! Thank you for doing a spring decor tour! I loved it! You house is so bright and happy with all of the great decor 🙂

It has totally got me in the mood to decorate my house for spring now too! I’ll have to pull out my tub of spring decor and get started- thank you for the inspiration! I’ll have to share a photo then 🙂

Thank you also for saying where you got your items even though they were from years ago, it’s still super helpful to know where you got them from because then it gives us an idea of where we might be able to find something similar! Thanks Jen!

  20. I really enjoyed seeing your Spring House Tour… Even though I have seen previous ones! It was also nice seeing you making videos again, you’ve been missed!

I love how you get so ‘festive’ regardless of the season, it’s lovely to see the effort you put in to keeping your house looking tip top in terms of décor and such. I particularly liked your table setting in the living room/kitchen area, very nice.

    Thanks for sharing!
    🙂

  21. I adore your Easter décor,

I don’t do much decorating for Easter in our house I’ve just removed my St. Patricks day decorations.

So I’m taking a break before I start getting ready for the summertime,
lets just hope we get a good summer in Ireland this year lol

  22. Hi Jen

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy both your and Don’s videos on Youtube as well as your blog here!! I am new to Youtube and am not sure where to Post comments, but wanted to say, “Hello” and thank you for sharing.

Please let Don know how much I appreciate his Youtube videos. I really enjoy his videos in which he shares his knowledge re: economics as well as investments that he likes!

    Thank You,
    Leslie
