I switched up my skincare since I last shared about my routine during my pregnancy. As much as I loved the Juice Beauty products I used at that time, my skin needed a change especially during the first few months postpartum at the beginning of last year when my hormones were all over the place. My skin reflected that and was out of balance. I have completely fallen in love with Drunk Elephant products. They’re made in the US from clean, clinically-effective ingredients that are safe for pregnant and nursing women. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skin over the past year thanks to using them! Here’s a look at my morning and evening skincare routines:

I cleanse my skin in the morning in the shower using the Drunk Elephant JuJu Bar. It has an extremely mild exfoliating effect Once I am out of the shower I follow up with my homemade toner made up of half Bragg Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar and half Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin (kept in a plastic bottle like this one) which I apply using my all time favorite Shiseido Facial Cotton. While that dries I dab a bit of Drunk Elephant Shaba Complex Eye Serum under my eyes. It is very lightweight which is perfect for daytime use under makeup but still packs a powerful moisturizing punch.
I use a couple of products designed to protect and hydrate my skin before my tinted moisturizer and makeup. The Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum has completely transformed my face, especially concerning the fine lines on my forehead and around my mouth. I feel like they’re far less noticeable since I’ve been using it! Once the serum has set up, I put on the Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel, which acts like a primer without that silicone feel. It keeps my skin, which has been on the drier side lately, feeling fresh and moisturized. Lastly, I combine Juice Beauty SPF 30 Tinted Moisturizer and Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream for the perfect shade of light coverage, which evens out my complexion.
The first part of my evening skincare routine is removing my makeup. I use Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover with my favorite Shiseido Facial Cotton to gently and effectively remove waterproof eyeliner and mascara. To remove my face makeup I dab Simple Micellar Cleansing Water onto Up & Up Exfoliating Cotton Rounds and gently sweep over my skin. I then run a washcloth under super hot water that I ring out and place over my face for a moment to help open pores and dampen my skin. It feels very relaxing at the end of the day! After that my skin is ready for cleansing with the Drunk Elephant Pekee Bar. I use a Clarisonic Face Brush (mine is an older model, but this one is comparable) and a Clarisonic Luxe Facial Brush Head with this cleanser.
I gently dry my face by blotting with a clean washcloth and then apply my homemade toner. While that dries, I gently dab Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream under each eye. I don’t like to put my fingers into products in pots to preserve their quality, so I use a little scoop that came with a moisturizer I used years ago. You can find a similar scoop/spatula here. The Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum has active ingredients that help keep my pores clean and acne at bay. Once the serum sets, it’s time to moisturize with a two-step process. First, I use Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, which I follow up with Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream. The combination of these products keeps my skin feeling plump and soft. Lately, I’ve experienced some dry skin on my neck and décolletage, so I’ve added a final step of applying First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration to that area, which has helped tremendously.

I’ve been following most of this routine (with the exception of the eye cream and First Aid cream, which are newer products in the last month for me) for an entire year now with great results. I credit the Drunk Elephant skincare products with helping me maintain much more balanced skin. They’re definitely on the pricy side, but worth every penny in my books!
I’d love to know what your current favorite skincare products are if you care to share!
