I’ve settled into a new skincare routine over the past few months that I’m really liking. More importantly, my skin is very happy with it. I share a look at those products in this post and walk through both my morning and evening routines in detail in my coordinating video.

The first part of my evening skincare routine is to remove my makeup, if I’m wearing any. I use the Makeup Eraser to remove the majority of my face makeup and Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover for my eyes. I like to remove any remaining makeup or skincare on my face with Simple Cleansing Micellar Water and Up&Up Exfoliating Cotton Rounds. I do this step even on the days I’m not wearing makeup to remove my CC cream.
I soak a washcloth in hot water and wring it out mostly, then hold it over my face to warm up my skin and open my pores. It’s incredibly relaxing, especially at the end of a long day. I apply Juice Beauty Cleansing Milk onto my slightly damp skin and work it in with my Clarisonic face brush. I prefer the Luxe Cashmere Brush Cleansing Head for its gentle effect. After about a minute of passing the brush over my face, I rinse with warm water and pat dry.
I follow up with a toner I mix from equal parts Bragg Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar and The Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin. I’ve used this concoction for over a year with great results! I shake the mixture well and apply it to my face using Shiseido Facial Cotton squares. It does smell a bit but fortunately that dissipates quickly. While the toner dries on my skin, I apply Dancin’ Goat Mambo Mint Lip Scrub and then buff it off with a washcloth. I pop on some Honey Trap Lip Balm, a longtime favorite of mine from Lush.
Lastly, I moisturize, starting with my undereye area. I use my ringer fingers to dab a small amount of Avalon Vitamin C Revitalizing Eye Cream under both eyes. I then apply Tarte Maracuja Oil all over my face and neck. I’ve come to enjoy using face oils and find they do make a difference in keeping my skin feeling balanced. I like to let the oil set in for several minutes before my last step of my evening skincare routine, which is my nighttime moisturizer. I’ve been using Juice Beauty Nutrient Moisturizer for a few months now and really love it. It’s thick without being greasy or heavy. My skin drinks it up!
I have a two-part morning skincare routine. Right after I wake up and brush my teeth, I use a Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelette (The White Tea extract version are my favorite) to freshen up my face, neck, and décolletage. I spritz a bit of The Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin on my face, which acts as a lightweight toner and moisturizer in one. I pop on a bit of Smith’s Rosebud Salve in a Tube on my lips and then I go about my usual morning routine which includes taking my dog, Winnie, for a walk, eating breakfast, and then working out. I don’t like to complete my whole morning skincare routine until after my workout and shower.
I use Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser in the shower every morning to wash my face. It is an extremely gentle exfoliate that quickly dissolves into a nice foamy soap. Once out of the shower, I apply the same homemade toner that I use in the evening. I follow up with the Avalon Vitamin C Eye Cream and then Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum. Once that has a chance to set, I use Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream. I am in the shade Warm Glow. This is my current daytime moisturizer, which also provides light coverage and SPF 30.
