Pretty Neat Living Launch

Hello, friends!  It’s been a big week here at Pretty Neat Living (PNL for short if you’re into abbreviations like me) Headquarters with the launch of my new site.  I am over the moon to finally be able to share my new name and look with you!

pretty neat living launchI took a screenshot while editing my launch video which I think really captures my feelings about the new site.

I decided to film a video sharing my reasons for the switch and the process behind my rebranding journey.  I cover everything from why I decided I needed a change from my previous OrganizedJen title to how I came up with the new name and what steps I took to get from the old site to the new one, which mainly involved the indispensable help of the amazingly talented folks at ipsoCreative.

Check out the video if you’re interested in hearing more:

I couldn’t be more pleased with how everything has turned out with the rebranding and am super excited to continue sharing with you with this new energy and vibe.  Please let me know if you have any questions I didn’t answer in the video regarding my rebranding journey.  Thank you so much for your continued support and enthusiasm for my content.  You inspire me to continue sharing!

  1. YAY! Love the new site! I’ve been following you for several years and I’m so happy to see this new look! Best of luck with this new and improved (ad)venture!!!

  2. Love the new launch! The site is absolutely beautiful. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve had trouble when cursoring over the Live Love Organize on the top of the page. When I got to click down to the various options, such as Cook Nook, when I move the cursor to click on a selection the drop down disappears. Hope that helps when working out the kinks. Can’t wait to explore the site more.

    1. I find that function to be a little tricky on most sites that have it. You really have to stay on top of the text section for the drop down to sty up. I’ll bring it up with the developers and see if they can make it less sensitive. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

  3. Congratulations! The smile on your face and the love and happiness in voice says it all. Looking forward to supporting you in your lovely journey while learning and celebrating life. PRETTY NEAT LIVING indeed. 🙂

  4. Love the new site. It’s so beautiful! Just curious – did you coordinate your new paint color in your room to be more closely aligned with your new brand? It works perfectly 🙂

Congrats – you’re an inspiration to me!

    1. No, that wasn’t intentional but I have been gravitating towards subdued pastels lately, so that makes sense that it coordinates 🙂

  5. Jen,

Will you be adding a forum like page so we can share here on the site? Or will it all just be through comments?

    1. For now I’m sticking with the comment section as a forum would require moderators and I’m a one-woman show at the moment. I’m not ruling it out as a future possibility, though!

  6. Jen, Congratulations!!!! I am so excited for you and can not wait to tune in everyday. All the best, Robyn

  7. Jen,
This looks absolutely fantastic! I especially love the Live Love Organize tabs at the top to get to different categories of videos. I often find myself going back your videos about beauty or packing and had trouble finding them on your old site, but this is AMAZING! Well done!

  8. I’m so happy for you and how this venue has helped your personal growth. I wish there had been the internet when I was in my 20’s because you remind of me back then. Now I’m 75 and my mind is full of possibilities for a blog.
    Congratulations.

  9. Love your new site! It’s so fresh, calm & clean looking! I found you several years ago through a Tone it Up Video, I think you were making a breakfast dish! Following ever since! Thank you for sharing your pretty neat life! 🙂 PS my little niece Santina just Loves Winnie! She even says…”aunt Joanne…let’s watch Winnie!”

  10. WordPress is so easy to use! Yay you!

Just a couple comments as a webdesigner (and in the spirit of sharing!). This is a graphic heavy site, so takes a while to load on lower bandwidth; there’s the large scrolling banner at the top, the one third sized sidebar, huge blog post intro pictures (they take almost whole screen on iPad mini) and then the “you may like” below each post is very large for this kinda of “suggested links” widget.

The gist being… visually it’s a bit overwhelming. Can’t see the wood for the trees.

Positive notes: calming colours, easy to read fonts.

  11. love the new site and well done on the new rebranding and love the new bee logo especially at the start and end of your videos

  12. Hi Jen,
Was it your decision or Ipso’s to release the rebranding piece by piece? My company went through rebranding this past year and our consultant told us not to reveal anything until everything was finalized. When it was, we just changed the website, logo, etc quietly. We were forbidden to use any of the “old” branding or talk about it. It was basically like ripping off a bandaid, LOL. I think most companies do it this way.

Why did you decide to speak so much about it during the last year? I kind of felt it took away from the excitement of the reveal. Just my opinion.

    1. I wanted people to be in the loop and not surprised by the changes, since they’re pretty different, at least aesthetically. It was my decision to let you guys know my plans, because that’s just who I am and how I share. I try to be honest, transparent, and share as much as I can whenever it’s appropriate.

  13. Love the new look and can’t wait to see more new content. You are my favorite blogger/vlogger and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us!!!

  14. I am so in love of your new site! I loved the other one, but this one is more inviting an that’s only the presentation (meaning the layout). I’m pretty sure you’ll will feel more motivated and proud to share content on it. Best wishes on your new journey! 🙂

  15. I just want to say I love your videos and blog and you are really the first and only youtube channel I watch. I think your new brand and design are beautiful and I always look forward to seeing what you are sharing. Your genuine kindness really shines through and I feel like if we met we would be friends. 🙂
    Best, Marissa

  16. I like the fact that you don’t “sit on your success” if I may say 🙂 but that you are constantly trying to improve. It makes US want to improve too !
It might take a bit of time to get use to the color palette and forget about the bright ones, but it could be more calming and gentle for the eyes in the long run (maybe ?)
However, I hate, really hate the “read more” button ! I can’t tell you how many article i don’t read because of it.
I am gready I guess lol I want to see everything all at once !

Could it be possible, maybe, that you considere, or even think about (I am trying to suggest nicely lol) making it desapear and getting back to full lenght article please ?
Pretty please with a cherry on top ! ^^

    1. I made a conscious decision to go to the read more setup because I felt like the single feed was overwhelming and posts were less visible. This way people can chose what they want to read and it’s more visually accessible. I understand the preference for the old way but I’m going to give this a go for a little while. Thanks for your feedback!

  17. I really love the new website. It’s a joy to browse around.

One thing I did notice as I was looking for help on desktop organization, is your posts are no longer dated. The only way I can see when something was posted is to scroll down to the comments section and see the dates listed there.

    1. Hmm I hadn’t noticed that. Good catch! I like the dating and will make a note to see if we can add it in.

  18. Jen.
Your new site is amazing and of course NEAT! Thank you for all of your efforts and time this journey has taken and your willingness to share. I’ve been quietly following you for about a year with very, very little participation. I completely understand the work it takes to face anxiety straight on. Congratulations for doing the work and seeing how that work can lead to an amazing milestone. Always follow and do what you feel is best, popular or not! As a follower, I enjoy the blog posts, vlogs, home projects and ways to attack the every tasks or feelings that can be a neat life for all. I’m beginning to ramble, meaning I’m typing too much. Please take care and enjoy your summer!
    Smiles, gigles,
    Diane

  19. what a beautiful website, Jen.
As i said in a previous comment when you’ve shared the first preview, it’s really you.
May I suggest a soft music to listen to, I think it could be a nice add to make us feel like home.
Enjoy your summer, it’s a real pleasure to see you so happy !
    Warm hi from France.

  20. Hello Jen,

I love the new name and look of your youtube channel and blog!

Thanks to you sharing your life with us. I really enjoy your videos, specially after a long hard day at work. They always put me in a good mood 🙂

    Greetings from Germany

    Christiane

  21. Jen, The rebranded site and new launch videos are very impressive. I just found your site and YouTube channel in 2013. I really like what I have seen so far.
    I wish you much success.

    A fan from Illinois!!!

  22. Hey Jen!
Since you film in your bedroom, I’ve been noticing your headboard – it looks really cool. You can tell me about it? Thanks so much!

Congrats on the launch of your rebranding – everything looks great!

  23. Just came back from holidays and see this. I am as excited as you. 😉 It’s beautiful!

    Greetings from Vienna!

One thing: I think the category “You May Like…” is a little too big.

  24. Congrats on the new site, It looks awesome. Wanted to let you know just got back from vacation. I used packing cubes for the first time,(per your vlog), don’t know how I ever survived without them. They really do make everything easier.
