It’s pregnancy update time! In my weekly update I share what’s happening in my pregnancy journey with you. This includes general stats such as how I’m feeling, any symptoms I’m experiencing, food cravings and aversions, weight gain, bump shots, etc., as well as what’s going on in my life that’s pregnancy-related and any baby things we’ve purchased or received as gifts. Here’s the scoop at 33 weeks:
Here’s the current status:
❊ How Far Along – 33 weeks (8 months/3rd trimester)
❊ Baby Size Comparison – Honeydew Melon (19″ Head to Toe and 4.5 pounds)
❊ Movement – Just like last week, I continue to feel a lot of movement, particularly pushing and stretching motions, throughout the day, especially before and after meals and when I’m sitting or lying down. I can also see her movements from the outside, which is fun.
❊ Symptoms – Baby Girl continues to grow (yay!) which adds more pressure on my ribs and lungs, leaving me feeling a bit short of breath. I definitely notice a change in my stamina this week as I prep for Thanksgiving. I get physically fatigued quicker when I am active and have to take more breaks. I’m still managing to get it all done somehow, but it’s been interesting for me to have to take breathers when I’m used to powering through physical tasks.
❊ Physical Changes – I realize there isn’t a ton of noticeable bump growth in the comparison shot, but I think that has more to do with lighting and how much water weight I’m carrying on any given day than anything else. I can tell that the bump has gotten bigger even if the photos are deceptive.
❊ Weight Gain – -1 pound (26 total) I asked my doctor about the scale going down and she said not to worry as there’s a lot of water weight at this point in pregnancy and things can fluctuate a bit more.
❊ Mood – I’ve been in good spirits this week. I wake up so excited every morning because it’s another day closer to meeting Baby!
❊ Sleep – Most nights I sleep about 8–9 hours. I get up about 2-3 times per night to relieve my teensy tiny pregnancy bladder, but I fall back to sleep immediately so it’s no biggie.
❊ Food Cravings – I’ve been more interested in pickles than usual this past week. How cliché!
❊ Food Aversions – Fish, as per usual, but now also shrimp.
❊ Missing – Being able to run around my house at a thousand miles per second as I prep for Thanksgiving. Somehow even at my slower pace I’m still managing, though, so that’s working out just fine.
❊ Looking Forward To – Spending Thanksgiving with my nearest and dearest!
❊ This Week’s Happenings – Lots of Thanksgiving prep, as you might have picked up on. We’re expecting just over twenty this year, which feels like a manageable crowd. We’re Thanksgiving pros after 8 years! I had another doctor’s appointment, which are still every other week. It was a standard appointment where they checked my urine, blood pressure, and weight, listened to the baby’s heart rate (mid 140s) and measured my fundal height (33 cm – still right on track!).
We set up the Halo Bassinet my folks gave us in our bedroom, which is bringing me so much joy (don’t worry, I’ll remove the plushies and blankets before Baby Girl arrives – it’s just for fun for now). My Mom brought over some of my old baby clothes, including the outfit and blanket she brought both me and my brother home from the hospital in. Sweet memories! The nursery is coming along, as well, which I hope to share a peek at next week.
