It’s pregnancy update time! In my weekly update I share what’s happening in my pregnancy journey with you. This includes general stats such as how I’m feeling, any symptoms I’m experiencing, food cravings and aversions, weight gain, bump shots, etc., as well as what’s going on in my life that’s pregnancy-related and any baby things we’ve purchased or received as gifts. Here’s the scoop at 26 weeks:
Here’s the current status:
❊ How Far Along – 26 weeks (last week of my second trimester!)
❊ Baby Size Comparison – Eggplant (9+″ Head to Rump / 13-14″ Head to Toe and 2 pounds)
❊ Symptoms – The leg cramps and frog-in-throat acid reflux have not been issues for me this past week and in general I’ve been feeling great. I did have a bit of an off weekend, starting with some pretty intense lower abdominal pressure on Friday. I was a bit worried about it since it was so consistent and didn’t let up, so I went to my general practitioner’s walk in hours on Saturday morning just to be sure I didn’t have some sort of bladder infection or UTI. By the time I saw the doctor I was starting to feel relief (isn’t that always the way!), but she ran a full urine analysis just to be sure. Fortunately, everything came back clear. I’m glad I went to have it checked out just to be on the safe side. By the end of the weekend I felt 100% normal once again.
❊ Physical Changes – Growing by leaps and bounds each week now! I feel like the changes are starting to become more noticeable, which is exciting.
Here’s another shot of my bump, taken with my iPhone instead of my dSLR, exactly on my flip day (Sunday). This is what my bump looks like to me currently when I look in the mirror. Sometimes I feel like my weekly shots aren’t exactly true to life, but I do like the side by side comparison in the same outfit each week:
❊ Weight Gain – 0 pounds (20 total)
❊ Mood – Despite having a weird week in my personal life, I remained happy and pretty calm for the most part, which is nice.
❊ Sleep – I’ve been sleeping about 9 hours each night. I did have a few bad sleep nights last week, one due to feeling off on Friday and another due sheerly to anxiety over my registry (I know, how lame, but that’s what happened!). I’m hoping to return to better sleep this week.
❊ Food Cravings – I’ve been all about yogurt and granola this week, specifically fruit-flavored yogurt. I have a little everyday as my afternoon snack and it’s heaven!
❊ Food Aversions – Fish. Not to be confused with seafood, which I still enjoy eating for the most part.
❊ Missing – A full week’s worth of good sleep. I’m hoping for better sleep this week.
❊ Looking Forward To – Decorating the house for fall. I’ve always been into celebrating seasons and holidays, but there’s something extra special about fall this year. I keep thinking about how next fall I’ll get to share some of my favorite parts of the season with Baby Girl. I have a feeling Christmas is going to be extra special this year, too!
❊ This Week’s Happenings – I saw my doctor for my monthly appointment and all is well. She took my fundal height and I’m measuring right on track. I did the glucose test, which came back normal. Yay! I also completed our baby registry for the most part, which was tasked to me since baby shower invitations went out this week. I don’t know why I got so anxious I lost sleep over it, LOL! I think that was just a pregnancy related fluke. I decided to register online for ease of use and because I wanted to be able to register privately. Our registry is not searchable; you must have an exact link to access it. I will be sharing what’s on my baby registry down the road, but I want to keep it private and just for family and close friends for now. I’m happy to have wrapped that up!
