It’s pregnancy update time! In my weekly update I share what’s happening in my pregnancy journey with you. This includes general stats such as how I’m feeling, any symptoms I’m experiencing, food cravings and aversions, weight gain, bump shots, etc., as well as what’s going on in my life that’s pregnancy-related and any baby things we’ve purchased or received as gifts. Here’s the scoop at 25 weeks:
Now there’s some noticeable bump growth! Baby’s growing and so am I 🙂
Here’s the current status:
❊ How Far Along – 25 weeks (6 months)
❊ Baby Size Comparison – Rutabaga (9″ Head to Rump / 13″ Head to Toe and 1.75 pounds)
❊ Symptoms – The charlie horse leg cramps returned earlier in the week with a vengeance. New to me are similar cramps in my toes. How strange! They’ve subsided a bit since I’ve added a daily banana into the mix. I’m still experiencing frog-in-the-throat acid reflux now and then. One of my health practitioners recommended taking a little apple cider vinegar (instead of something like Tums) every day to help combat this. I’ve only been doing so for a few days, but it seems pretty effective so far!
❊ Physical Changes – I’m obviously getting bigger! While I’ve definitely gotten a little plumper all around in addition to the belly, I really haven’t noticed any other physical changes as of yet. No stretch marks or bigger feet or swollen hands, but there’s still plenty of time for all that.
❊ Weight Gain – 1 pound (20 total)
❊ Mood – I experienced a bit of those emotional ups and downs once again, which I’ve been fortunate haven’t been a constant, because I’m not a fan of feeling unpredictable. For the most part, however, I continue to feel happy, calm, and grounded.
❊ Sleep – I’ve been sleeping 9+ hours (!) a night this past week and it’s been amazing. I’m enjoying being able to sleep comfortably while I still can!
❊ Food Cravings – Sweets! In particular, fall-themed baked goods. Specifically, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and apple cider donuts. I’ve been waiting for the sweets craving to hit and it finally has. I’m pretty sure that pound I gained is purely muffins and donuts. 😉
❊ Food Aversions – Fish. Still. Always. Other than that, I’m pretty open to most foods that I normally like, except I’ve noticed I can’t eat anything too spicy anymore or it give me major frog-in-the-throat problems.
❊ Missing – The abundance of fresh fruit in Hawaii. It’s so nice to be home, just in time for fall, and I’m loving the crisp and sweet apples right now, but the rest of the fresh fruit pickings are getting slimmer as we head into the cooler months.
❊ Looking Forward To – Working on our baby registry. I’ve been instructed to have it mostly set by early next week since baby shower invitations are going out then so that’s my main baby-related task of the week. Fortunately, I was able to do a lot of research on baby gear while I had downtime on our babymoon in Hawaii, so now it’s just a matter of putting things on the registry.
❊ This Week’s Happenings – The nursery furniture has been ordered! Huzzah! We went to see our top picks in person last week and were able to pick everything out, including the crib, dresser and hutch, nightstand, and glider. You can read more about our picks here if you like. Now it’s time to start thinking about other nursery details, like wall color, window treatments, and bedding. Fun times!
