Plan With Me | September 2015

As a Planner Enthusiast, I’m a fan of Plan With Me style posts and videos where people share how they plan out any given day, week, or month in their planners.  I’ve changed up how I plan in my Erin Condren Life Planner since diving into the world of planner stickers over the past month.  I thought I’d try my hand at a Plan With Me style video (see below).  I’m posting photos and links here in case you want a closer look.

Please be advised that some of the links provided are affiliate links and I do receive a small commission if you make a purchase using those links.  This does not cost you any extra when you make a purchase.  I very much appreciate your support of this blog in doing so!

Monthly Spread

plan with me september 2015 ECLP monthly spread

I love using my custom Avery 5418 labels in my monthly spread.  They’re repositionable which makes them super easy to move around without wrecking the paper or the labels.  I use my monthly spread to plan out my posting schedule for both my blog and YouTube channel.  The washi tape marks off travel and time off.

I do not have a tutorial for how I make my custom Avery 5418 labels, because I use Photoshop, which I realize isn’t a program most people have.  Carissa Wiley on YouTube has a great video tutorial for how to make something similar using Microsoft Word or Photoshop Elements if you’re interested in trying this out for yourself.

Weekly Spread

plan with me september 2015 eclp weekly spread

Here you can see the complete weekly spread I work on in my coordinating video.  I make the social media checklists at the bottom of my spread using Photoshop.  Here’s a list of the Etsy sticker shops I used:

Paper Loving Mommy – Headers, heart checklists, banners, flags, weather, mailboxes, groceries, laundry, watering can, airplane

My Own Island –  Meal banner,* pregnant lady*

Station Stickers – Doctor’s bag, puppy bath

Sweet Kawaii Design – Laptops, trash can, recycling bin

It’s Planning Time – Nail polish, summer graphics

✢ Scribble Prints Co – Weekend banner*

Planner Accessories

I thought it would be fun to also share my favorite planner accesssories of the moment.  I just got a new custom planner cover from Erin Condren that I love.  The colors go great with this month’s spread!  I love using Peach Pom‘s Pom Pom Paper Clips to mark my spot in my planner.  The lavender pom is a perfect match for the monthly color scheme and my planner cover.  I also use Girl of All Work’s Sock Hop Sticky Tabs in my planner.  The size fits perfectly in the sidebars!  I received the washi tapes I use in my monthly spreads as gifts,  The bright colors and patterns really pop to help me track my travel and time off.

The Etsy shops mentioned were kind enough to offer coupon codes if you’re interested in making a purchase:

  1. I planned a lot when I was in college and have recently been thinking about getting back into it. Your video/blog post has definitely helped to push me in that direction. Thanks for the info!

  2. Jen — I think you did an amazing job with this video. I love what you did with your planner, I love the way you use the stickers. It doesn’t look busy or cluttered. I hope you do more of these videos.

  3. Loved the video, so sad that the furniture for the utah nursery did not come, I wanted to see it!
Lots of love from Uruguay, Dani 😀

  4. HI Jen… Loooove plan with me videos! They always inspire me and help to get me motivated! Can’t wait for the sticker haul!!! <3

  5. Love that you are feeling more comfortable utilizing some stickers and still keeping things streamlined and not too too busy. Looks great and love the plan with me series!

  6. Hi Jen, I have watched you off and on for the past few years, and was so happy for you when I recently viewed your pregnancy updates. Congratulations on all the good things that are happening for you. I have just started using a planner and like that you are going to start the plan with me videos.

  7. I started using a planner in July and love it! I really enjoy seeing how others use their planners. I hope you are having a great trip.

  8. I really enjoyed your video and would love to see more in the future! I’m excited to see your sticker haul too. I’m new to planner stickers but they definitely make it more fun. 😃 Thanks for sharing.

  9. Hi Jen! I love that you are getting into stickers! Nice layout!! I would love to see you do a video review of the Purposeful Planner. That is the planner I am going to get for 2016 and I am so excited. I am also getting into the whole sticker thing as well, and I can’t wait to see what I will do with the PP. Anyway, I would love to see what YOU think of it. It is really cool with hydration tracking, fitness, retail therapy, etc. Anyway, great info!! Thank you for sharing!!

  10. Loved this video! It’s always nice to see how other people organize their time. I always find something helpful in the way of hints or tips in your videos 🙂

  11. I am a teacher and discovered you on YouTube this summer. I enjoy your blog and your videos so I subscribed! Winnie is adorable – I am also a shitzu mom and my baby’s name is KC (short for King Charles because he does rule our house 😀). Keep the planner videos coming. Could you do a review of the new EC Horizontal Spread planner?

  12. OMG, I just discovered EC yesterday and was on the EC Facebook page when your page was suggested..I watched your entire video and absolutely love it!!! I love how u do the stickers and everything!!I am sooooo dying to get an EC Planner!!! Thanks so much for the giveaway- u are amazing!! And congrats on the pregnancy!!!

  13. I love watching planner videos, despite being quite basic in my own planning. I would love to have a go with the EC planner though. Unfortunately, as I live in England I can’t justify the cost when postage is added.

I think your videos are great, by the way. I have been watching for a couple of years and although you have a very different life experience to me I still relate to you in some ways and find you very likeable.

  14. Hi Jen!
I love planning too, I guess it is also because I am a teacher and we are always planning lessons. I got to know about the Erin Condren planners through this video of yours. I am so excited that they have a teacher version as well. I cannot wait to get my very first Erin Condren planner. Thanks for the video. Keep them coming! 🙂

  15. Great job Jen….love your planner and it wasn’t overwhelming at all….because of your videos I’ve purchased a Filofax and an Erin Condren teacher planner…..keep the content flowing and keep on inspiring others ( like me 😉)!!

  16. Hey Jennifer,

Thank you for the awesome giveaway. I enjoyed your video — I appreciated the “speed ups” as most plan with me videos run on the longer side and it’s nice to see the before/after with an explanation without sitting through the whole week being planned out “live” if that makes sense.

I hope this doesn’t make me ineligible for your contest but for the Twitter entry, I put my OLD twitter name in, lmillerbooks, not my NEW name, midwest_maven. I couldn’t figure out how to edit the entry. Sorry! 🙁 I am following your Twitter and enjoy getting your updates. Thank you for the opportunity!

  17. As a fellow #planneraddict who is currently using a 2015-2016 Erin Condren Life Planner I am LOVING your plan with me video! I recently switched from using a different planner to using the Erin Condren as my primary planner and have also just recently started using stickers in my planning. I love how much fun it is and how functional the sticker headers are! I love watching plan with me videos and your style is awesome! I love the idea of a monthly roundup with your planner spreads but I also wouldn’t mind seeing more regular planner content relating to how you’re using your planner to plan everything!

  18. Hi Jen, I loved this plan with me video. I hope you do more. I think the video was great set up wise, but it seemed awkward for you. Microscope beauty does a lot of plan with me videos and in a vlog she showed her set up. I’ll link it here. She goes over the set up around the 11 minute mark. Hope it helps!! http://youtu.be/jFsny52iPk0

  19. Great video Jennifer. I’ve recently got into the planner community too. I love watching how others plan and decorate. Yours is very neat and I like that. There are so many beautiful stickers to chose from though.

  20. Yippee! I knew you’d cave 🙂 Planner stickers are TOO awesome. Nice job with your 1st Plan w/Me Video. Unless your style dramatically shifts or there’s an extra special week, why not just do a monthly flip-thru? In any case, THANK YOU for sharing the many discount codes. (I’ll have to note their expiration in my planner!) And this giveaway is too exciting – my birthday is October and my Mom’s is November, so we’d have fun shopping. Take care. xo

  21. I have to have those peach pom paperclips! Her store is closed, hope she opens back up soon! I love the monthly video idea better than all the girls that do weekly AND I can’t wait for you to see the inkwell press planner… you will LOVE it!

  22. Loved your plan with me video! I especially love the small stickers you use and save space for all the planning. Looking forward to seeing more.

  23. I learned so much from this planner video. I will be using washi tape to create colored coded activities. And I will order the heart shaped check off stickers. Thanks for sharing your organization on planning.

  24. I love your Erin Condren planner, although I only use daily planners (not weekly ones). Will you be doing a review video for the Day Designer and/or Simplified Planner again this year? Thanks!

    1. Probably not, since the designs don’t seem to have changed significantly from last year. I’m hoping to review some other ones 🙂

  25. I just wanted to say thank you for making this video and all your other ones! I had a copy of questions about this planner and being able to watch you go through it answered everything!!! And congrats on your little girl!

  26. this video is very inspiring and it gives me more motivation to use a planner. you make it look so easy but when i actually try it myself I just cant keep track of my day to day errands.

  27. I was a winner of your contest! I just ordered my planner and accessories!! Your planner videos are awesome! Thanks for the inspiration! I cant wait to try out some ideas!

  28. Hi! I just “stumbled” across your video on YouTube for this post, and fell in love! I have always wanted to use stckers in my planner, but was never able to use them effectively, or as creativr as this. I love it! I have so many ideas now, and how to make my ECLP more functional for me! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I just have one question: I see that you designed your own stickers for the bottom othe planner pages in photoshop. Is there a post on how you actually did it, or anyway I can find out? I want todo something similiar for my daily routine to keep me honest, and help me track it. I think this would help me tremedously. Thaks again.
