Plan With Me | Halloween 2016

I use functional stickers in my planner on a regular basis as I shared in a recent Plan With Me post, but decided to try something different in my planner in celebration of Halloween.  I tried my hand at “no white space” planning, a popular technique in the planner community right now which employs the use of lots of stickers.  In other words: fun, fun, fun!  Come plan with me!

My planner is decked out for Halloween this month.  I love using interchangeable covers with my Erin Condren Life Planner* to coordinate with the time of year.  This exquisite Halloween cover is sadly discontinued, but the creative folks at Erin Condren release fun new ones every season.  And of course, I must match my beloved Peach Pom clips with the theme!

I purchased a Halloween planner sticker kit from Firefly Paper Shop to try my hand at no white space planning.  Here’s a look at my completed spread “before the pen,” as fellow Planner Enthusiasts would say:

These stickers are gorgeous!  The print quality is excellent with vibrant pigmentation and crisp, clean edges.  Even though the stickers are glossy and not necessarily removable I was able to pick them up relatively easily to make adjustments.  I wasn’t able to fill in my planning just yet since I wanted to complete and share this well in advance of Halloween in case anyone wanted to purchase the kit, too.  Unfortunately, the kit is no longer available and Firefly Paper Shop is on vacation right now, but you can bet I’ll be back to see what holiday stickers pop up there when it reopens!

It’s giveaway time!  I managed to snag five of these Halloween kits before the shop closed for vacation.  The Halloween Plan With Me Giveaway will run until Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 6 PM CT.  The giveaway is open internationally.  All entrants under the age of 18 must have parental permission to enter.  FIVE winners will receive a Firefly Paper Shop Halloween sticker kit.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my attempt at “no white space” planning.  I’d love to see your Halloween spreads if you care to share!  Feel free to tweet me a photo at PrettyNeatLivng and I’ll retweet it.

  1. That was fun. I have never tried that but I think I will. I think the colors are pretty for Oct. Thanks for the video. It’s so nice to hear your voice. I hope you are having a lovely Autumn.

  2. I saw in a video once, if stickers are not repositionable, you can put the sticker on the back of your hand, and pull it up a few times and the oils from your hand help make the stickers repositionable…worth a try right?

  3. Hi Jen,

I totally love the look of this, but is it functional? It seems like there’s only room to write 5-6 to-do’s, and a few small notes.

Could you show us how to make a planner look pretty without giving up the much-needed writing space?

    1. Using a planner is different for everyone. I’ve grown so accustomed to making lists and following to-do’s that just a few short points every day is all I need to keep my mind focused. You can totally use less stickers and write more – it’s all about striking a balance that works for you. This is what works for me right now 🙂
