Seven and a half months old and busy as ever! CC is absolutely loving eating solids. Today I’m sharing a few of my Mama picks from 6-7 months, including a few favorite toys, a new accessory for shopping trips, and our starting solids must-haves.

❊ Disney Soft Books – These soft books are great to keep baby entertained on the go. They easily clip onto a stroller or carseat. CC loves the crinkly pages, bright colors, and convenient teething tab. Plus, they’re small and lightweight enough to easily pop into a purse or diaper bag.
❊ Lamaze Clip & Go Moose – Ah, Morty, how does CC love thee! This little furry fellow is now a beloved part of CC’s toy collection. She looks for him on the play mat every day! The bright colors, various textures, and different sounds (bells and crinkles) make him super entertaining!
❊ Leachco Prop R Shopper Shopping Cart Cover – The Prop R Shopper is our new favorite accessory for running errands. It’s a shopping cart cover with built in pillows for side support. It also has a couple of velcro leashes which are perfect for clipping on a couple of toys for entertainment. CC loves to lounge in it!
❊ Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair – The most essential part of our starting solids arsenal is of course the high chair. I spent quite a bit of time researching high chairs. I ultimately went with the Tripp Trapp because of its versatility. I like that it grows with the child and can be used up through young adulthood even. I also like that you can push it right up to the table, which is an important feature to me. It’s easy to wipe clean and looks great with our kitchen table. The Baby Set and Tray are the perfect accessories for the beginning stages of solids.
❊ Bumkins Disney Baby Waterproof Starter Bib – The best bibs! The built-in pocket is genius. They’re easy to wash either in the sink or washer and dryer. Of course I love the Disney styles!
❊ Avanchy Bamboo Stay Put Suction Bowl – This bamboo bowl has a strong suction that helps it stay put on a variety of surfaces (important to note the one surface it doesn’t seem to work well on in my experience is the Stokke tray). We also have the sectioned plate version for when CC moves onto finger foods.
❊ Beaba First Stage Silicone Spoons – Silicone spoons are great for teething babies new to the concept of eating from utensils. I prefer the Beaba’s to the Munchkin ones which are a bit flimsy in comparison. It’s nice that they come in a set of four, as well, as CC is fond of chucking them onto the floor mid-meal.
❊ NUK Learner Cup – CC took to this sippy cup right away, which I was surprised by because she’s shown no interest in any of the bottles we’ve offered her. I was amazed by how quickly she figured out how to tip the cup up to get the water. The design makes it easy for her to hold and guide the spout into her mouth herself.
❊ CanDoKiddo.com – I have consulted this amazing blog countless times now for advice with starting solids. It’s written by Rachel, an Occupational Therapist who shares her experiences as a mom as well. I appreciate her flexible approach to helping your baby navigate solids based on developmental cues. I highly recommend checking this blog out, not only for advice on eating, but for other milestones as well.
I talk about each item in more detail in this video:
I hope you enjoyed this look at my top picks for my seven month old. I would love to know what some of your Mommy favorites are if you care to share!
