Is there anything better than a sweet, happy, babbling 9 month old baby? I don’t think so! This is by far my favorite age yet. It’s incredible to watch my daughter, Charlotte, transition from infant to little girl. Her personality is really starting to shine through and I just love getting to know her more every day. Today I’m sharing some of my Mama picks from 8 to 9 months, including a few favorite toys & books, a new sippy cup, our must have dining out accessory, and some of CC’s favorite on-the-go treats.

❊ Lamaze Rainbow Stacking Rings – We’ve had this toy for ages and CC still uses and loves it, so I decided it was worth mentioning. Stacking rings are a baby staple. I really like this plush version, because it’s suitable to use even during the early months. It has different colors, textures, and sounds. CC loves the rainbow ribbons sticking out the top, especially when they’re tickled on her face.
❊ Lamaze My First Fishbowl – A friend recommended this toy and I’m so glad we picked one up, because it has been CC’s favorite over the past month. It’s a great way to practice putting things in and taking them out with a fun fishbowl theme. The little plush sea creatures are eye catching in bright colors with different fabric textures and sounds, making it a great multi-sensory toy.
❊ Bauer/Katz Lift the Flap Books – Yet another tried and true recommendation from a trusted mama source, we received one of these great lift-the-flap books from a cousin and have since acquired several more. The wonderful, simple stories accompanied by large, colorful illustrations make for great baby reads. The flaps are large enough for little hands to maneuver. CC is obsessed! We even bought a couple of fall-themed books from the same author that we’re enjoying right now.
❊ Tommee Tippee Trainer Sippee Cups – CC used (and loved) her NUK Learner Cup for months, but since teething has ramped up with her top front two teeth coming in she’s been chewing on the spout, breaking the seal, and consequently drenching herself with water. I decided to try out a hard cap cup instead to avoid the waterfall affect. The Tommee Tippee cup has worked like a charm as an alternative!
❊ PBnJ Baby SippyPal – CC is definitely in the stage of not just dropping things, but actually throwing them on the floor, especially when it comes to her sippy cups. Enter the SippyPal! This genius device helps secure the cup to her chair or stroller so that if she drops or tosses it, I don’t have to worry about it hitting the floor. You can also use the strap for toys. It’s a mama must have in my books!
❊ Happy Baby Puffs – Now that CC is awake more during the day we’ve been going on longer outings. It’s great to have portable snacks. This girl likes to eat! Puffs are easy to keep in a baggie in my bag for on-the-go snackage.
❊ GoGo Squeez Organic Applesauce on the Go – Another favorite on-the-go snack are these squeezy applesauce pouches. They’re so easy and clean to use when out and about, no spoon required. You can just squeeze the applesauce into baby’s mouth. CC can now suck them down all on her own, much to her delight. You should see how excited she gets whenever I pull a little green pouch from my bag!
❊ Inglesina Fast Table Chair – We keep this clamp-style high chair seat attached to our kitchen counter. CC likse to sits in it while I prepare her meals. She has a few toys and her sippy cup attached for entertainment, but mostly she enjoys watching me run around the kitchen. It’s also great to have when we take her out to eat. I prefer it to the standard wooden high chairs at most restaurants. It’s much more comfy for baby and easier for her to reach the table, too.
❊ KellyMom.com – It’s possible I’ve already shared about this website, but it’s such an excellent breastfeeding resource, it bears repeating. I referenced this site a lot during the newborn months when we struggled with breastfeeding. I still go back to it from time to time when I have a specific question. I can’t recommend it enough for breastfeeding mamas, especially in those early months. It provides a wealth of information and links to other resources as well.
I talk about each item in more detail in this video:
I hope you enjoyed this look at my top picks for my nine month old. I would love to know what some of your Mommy favorites are if you care to share!
