We spent the past month at our family home in Utah and had a ball! My daughter, Charlotte, grew so much while we were there, both physically and developmentally. It’s amazing how babies change in the blink of an eye! Today I’m sharing a few of my Mama picks from 7 to 8 months, including a few favorite toys & books, the softest PJ’s, yummy treats, and a new stroller obsession.

❊ Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes Musical Toy – CC has used and loved this little musical toy for many months but has become even more enamored with it since she’s figured out the joy of pressing the button over and over again. I love that it has two volume settings and is lightweight and small making it easy to travel with. It plays well known classical music, which is a nice departure from the mind-numbing plunky tunes musical toys usually play.
❊ Baby Banana Teether – This is, by far, the best teething toy we’ve come across yet, and that includes Sophie! I keep ours by her spot at the counter where she sits in her Inglesina Fats Table Chair while I prepare and then subsequently clean up from her meals. She always reaches right for it and it keeps her well occupied. The silicone brush is especially soothing on sore gums and is a great introduction to a toothbrush for later down the road.
❊ Jellycat If I Were Board Books – CC has gotten really into patting things in the past couple of months, especially after I point something out or touch it myself. Books designed with interactive elements to touch & feel are very appealing to her at the moment. We’ve been enjoying exploring her collection of “If I Were A…” animal board books together. They have lots of interesting textures, including the animal tail at the top of the book (which is obviously the best part!).
❊ Leveret Footed Pajamas – I was completely unprepared when CC shot up a size in PJ’s seemingly overnight a few days after we arrived at the Utah house. It’s not as easy to pop out to a store like Carter’s or Target as it is at home in Illinois, so I had to rely on what Amazon Prime could deliver in a couple of days. Happily, thePJ’s I found are now favorites! They come in a variety of patterns at a reasonable price. I already have my eye on the holiday designs!
❊ Happy Baby Organic Teethers – We’re now at a point in CC’s solid food journey where she’s beginning to need a little afternoon snack to tide her over between her mid afternoon nursing session and dinner. Oftentimes that’s when I take her out to run errands or for mini adventures together. Teething wafers are an easy, portably snack that is a perfect on-the-go option. I keep a packet in my purse at all times!
❊ Baby Jogger City Mini GT – We decided to purchase a more all-terrain friendly stroller to leave out at the Utah house, since we spend quite a bit of time there in the summer and around the holidays. It’s also nice not to have to lug our huge Uppababy Vista through the airport when at all possible. I love the City Mini GT. It is such a smooth ride and the fold is a breeze. I love our Uppababy’s big basket and convertibility options, but the City Mini is hard to beat in my opinion.
❊ Momtastic Wholesome Baby Food – You wouldn’t think it would be challenging to come up with meal ideas for a baby, but sometimes I admittedly feel stumped. I came across this blog in my search for ideas a couple of months ago and have found myself referencing it many times since. It includes a wealth of information all about feeing baby solids, including recipes, age appropriate food charts, allergens, and more. If you’re looking for some guidance and inspiration on feeding your baby solids, I recommend taking a look at this blog as it has so much to offer!
I talk about each item in more detail in this video:
I hope you enjoyed this look at my top picks for my eight month old. I would love to know what some of your Mommy favorites are if you care to share!
