November has arrived with a brisk wind and the last of the fall foliage. I like to kick off the beginning of the month with my monthly favorites mini series on TBBB, starting with my Miscellaneous Monthlies where I share some of my favorite things from the past month with you.
Clothes & Accessories
✻ Matty M Knit Open Cardi – I have worn this sweater quite a bit since I hauled it earlier this fall. It’s the perfect weight for fall weather providing enough warmth as a light layer without being too hot. Plus, the colors and design are super cute. It’s not often I find something so cozy to wear that doesn’t look slouchy, which explains why I’ve been wearing it so much.
✻ Beaded Necklace – I found this pretty piece at a little boutique out in Pennsylvania a few years ago. Sadly, I cannot link it as it is a one of a kind piece. I love how well both the color and design on the beads matches my Matty M cardi.
✻ Tiffany Venetian Link Bracelet – A classic silver link bracelet like this never goes out of style. It suits my personal tastes well, because it’s on the dainty side but still makes a statement. I’ve loved this piece well over the past eight or so years and I know I will continue to enjoy it for many to come.
✻ Mulberry Alexa – This bag was the first piece I ever fell in love with from Mulberry. I purchased it when we were visiting San Francisco for a friend’s wedding back in 2012 and have worn it every fall since. It’s a classic slouchy bag with a ton of room and a great fall look. I shared more about it in a past Bag Buzz post if you’re interested.
✻ Rifle Paper Co. Clear Rosa iPhone Case – I picked up a new phone case earlier in the month that I had actually been eyeing for awhile. I decided to splurge on it once I decided not to upgrade to the iPhone 6. I love the beautiful design that looks as if it’s painted onto the clear case. It works really well with my gold iPhone.
Home Goods
I’ve gone a bit candle crazy this fall! I typically burn candles more often as the weather turns cooler, but I feel like we’ve been going through them super fast in our home this year. I will have quite a few to share in my next empties post! I’m back on a Bath & Body Works 3-Wick candle kick thanks to the great deals I got in my recent haul. Warm Caramel Cider is the perfect candle if you really like the scent of caramel things, but don’t care for overly sweet candles. It’s just right! Autumn strikes the perfect balance between the traditional spicy and fruity smells of the season combined the the fresh scent of a forrest on a crisp day. Pumpkin Cupcake is spot on for pumpkin bread, in my opinion. It’s almost as if there’s some baking in the oven, even though there isn’t and it’s on the desk in my office. It has that great aroma without the calories.
Multi-Media
✻ A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin – I’ve been slowly working my way through this tome over the past month. Watching season three of the show on tv really got me in the mood to read the book. I feel like the show really departs from this book more so than with the first two books and seasons. It’s such an enjoyable read and I must say that while I do very much love that show, the book is even better. While I normally prefer reading from actual books except for when I’m traveling, I am happy to have this entire set on my Kindle, which makes it so much easier to manage when I’m reading in the tub.
✻ Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling – My latest audiobook pick is yet again another female comedian/writer. Surprise, surprise! I very much enjoyed listening to Mindy Kaling’s narration while knitting. She’s funny, witty, smart, and an all around great story teller.

✻ Hocus Pocus – It wouldn’t be October without Hocus Pocus. This is the quintessential Halloween movie to me. It’s got everything: a heart warming story about a brother and sister relationship, humor, a little romance, suspense (without being scary), and an all-star cast. I know it’s just a silly movie to some, but to me it’s an October must watch.
✻ Pretty Little Liars – Season Four – I’ve mentioned before that Don and I like to “save” shows so we can watch a season all at once (usually one or two episodes a night when we’re home). Traditionally we save our PLL fix for October since the murder mystery theme goes so well with the time of year. Season Four did not disappoint! The show is a little ridiculous, but just the right kind, if you know what I mean. It’s pure entertainment.
✻ Genesis by Grimes – Our friend makes us awesome mixes from time to time, which I always really look forward to especially since he includes a nice range of music that I’m generally not already familiar with. One of the songs on his latest gift to us by Grimes really jived well with my mood last month. I’m not usually big into electronic music, but something about the melody and the beat of this tune really makes me want to dance.
✻ V by Maroon Five – It took some time for me to get into Maroon Five’s latest album, V, but I eventually started really enjoying it. I feel like their sound has gotten much more pop-y lately. My absolute favorite song on the album is Feelings. This song gets me pumped up during my morning runs. I don’t actually listen to music when I run for safety reasons, but it plays on a loop in my head and keeps me running to the beat.
Tasty Treats
✻ Van’s Gluten Free Apple Cinnamon Waffles – I bought these frozen waffles on a whim earlier in the month and they quickly became a favorite. They have just the right balance between that classic waffle taste with an apple and cinnamon twist. Perfect toasted with a bit of peanut butter and a nice cuppa on the side!
✻ The Republic of Tea Caramel Apple Red Tea – I’ve been on a huge red tea kick lately. Rooibos delivers a nice earthy flavor without caffeine and is the perfect warm-me-up kind of cup. This caramel apple variety is out of sight with a little honey and some PB waffles on the side. #Yum
