Miscellaneous Monthlies: April 2014

Can you believe it’s May already? I wonder if the chilly spring we are having makes it seem like we shouldn’t be quite this far along in the year. I am happy that things are finally starting to warm up a bit so I can break out some of my new picks from my Spring Clothing & Accessories Haul.  It’s such a fun time of year to enjoy new pieces in your wardrobe!  I always kick off the beginning of a new month with my monthly favorites mini series videos on TBBB, starting with my Miscellaneous Monthlies where I share some of my favorite things from the past month (not including beauty – my Beauty Buzz update is coming soon!) in the video below:

  1. I read “The Fault in Our Stars,” too! It was so good; I cried. I can’t wait for the movie!

I saw “Divergent” in theaters and thought it was very well done. I wonder what faction I’d be in? Probably Abnegation. Which do you think you’d be in? I think you might be in Amity, you’re so happy all the time! I haven’t read the book yet, though, so I need to get on that!

  2. Regarding your snacks…an idea I learned recently is when you first get home with your bags of snacks (like the Snapea Crisps), measure the whole bag out into individual servings and put each serving in a sandwich baggie and then put the baggies back into the snack bag. When you want some all you have to do is grab a baggie out.

  3. I read The Fault in our Stars a few months ago- Oh my goodness that book broke my heart! Beautifully written. I followed it up with another John Greene book, Finding Alaska.
I have fallen off the eating well bandwagon since the end of lent and the arrival of the 50 day Easter season so I need to refocus. I can’t find most of the foods you show, but I did find huge bags of Chip-Ins at Sam’s Club!

  4. That purse is gorgeous! I’ve never been a big fan of LV but that one may change my mind. However, if I was going to spend over $1000 on a purse, I think I’d go for Balenciaga. I love the kind of metallic look to their bags, like this one: http://www.neimanmarcus.com/Balenciaga-Giant-12-Rose-Golden-Town-Bag-Shop-All/prod160110030_cat47360731__/p.prod?isEditorial=false&index=84&cmCat=cat000000cat000730cat43240829cat42550736cat47360731 (although I liked their designs from a few years ago better)

Those bracelets are really pretty too. I fell in love with a bracelet style called the Caribbean Hook bracelet. They have a classic, minimalist look that I think you’d like. Here’s the website that I bought mine from: http://www.bamboovi.com/

  5. I enjoyed this month’s favourites – as I do all of them really. You seem to be mentioning more and more books of late, which I love as not only a book lover but a book blogger. I’m sure you have plenty of books to read and add to your beautiful book collection however I wanted to share two books that I read this year and think you will enjoy too – Perfect by Rachel Joyce and The Visitors by Rebecca Mascull.

I look forward to future favourites videos.

  6. Hi Jen,
I’ve been enjoying your videos and blog posts, but I must ask since I’m a big fan of purses, I loved this Louis Vuitton bag so much I clicked on the link and almost choked on the price! How can you afford such expensive bags? I know, too personal, but I’m a personal finance blogger, so I had to ask. :)!

    1. It is very expensive, I know. It was a gift from my husband and I did not know the price before I linked it for this post. More than I’ve spent on my bags myself!

  7. I love the white lace dress you wore with the boots. Where did you get it? Also, thank you for your videos and blogs!

  8. Love those Snapeas too 🙂 They are addicting! Added The Fault in Our Stars to my reading list. Hope to have it done in time for the movie. Thanks for the recs!
