kikki.K 2015 Planner Lineup

I’m super excited to be kicking off a new Planner Review series on OLJ with a look at kikki.K‘s 2015 planner lineup.  I became a fan of this Australian-based home goods and accessories company late last year after seeing their gorgeous 2014 mint Time Planners on Instagram through some of the fellow #PlannerEnthusiasts I follow.  The company’s look is based on Swedish design principles.  Shops can be found in Australia as well as New Zealand and Singapore.  They offer most of their products on their website as well, which is well organized and easy to navigate.   I just love the simple and straightforward yet whimsical designs of kikki.K’s products, particularly their planners and thought I would share a look at the 2015 range with you.

The 2015 Time Planners come in a lovely lilac-colored leather with dainty gold diamonds that is similar in style to the much loved 2014 mint edition.  The leather is of similar quality as well, which is smooth and has a slight sheen, as well as a noticeable grain.  There is an elastic band closure, an elastic pen loop, an included notepad slipped into the back inside cover, and built-in slip pockets on the front inside cover on all three sizes (the large size also has a zip pocket here).  Both the outer and inner covers of the planners are lined completely in leather.

OJ_OLJ_10-10-2014_02

The planners are comparable to the most popular Filofax sizes and are compatible with other inserts thanks to the binder design.  The large planner is comparable to an A5 size, the medium, a personal size, and the small, a pocket size.  The “hardware” of the planners color coordinates in gold, which is a nice touch.  I find that the binder rings in the kikki.K planners are generally slightly larger and can hold more inserts than other similarly sized planners from other brands.

The interior shots in the collage above are from the large sized Time Planner.

Each Time Planner comes stocked with 2015 month and week on two-pages spread style calendars as well as dividers and a snap-out ruler.  The small planner includes an address section.  Both the medium and large planners also include sections for Birthdays & Anniversaries, Shops & Restaurants, To Do, and Expenses.  The paper is smooth and easy to write on, although you do get minor bleed through with some felt tip style pens and markers.  I like how streamlined the inserts are, particularly the calendars, which allow you to fill them in as you see fit without a lot of fluff.  The weekly spread calendar pages are lightly lined, which provides helpful guides without taking over the look of the page.  The dividers are laminated card stock for a bit of reinforcement in a lovely pale pink that compliments the lilac leather nicely.  The included ruler has pink markings as well to match the color scheme and is translucent so that you can still see your calendar through it.

Here you can see the slight design differences in the two smaller size planners.  The medium planner (top half of the collage) has the exact same inserts as the ones pictured in the large size.  The small planner (bottom half of the collage) only includes the two calendars and an address section.

The large Time Planner retails for $79.95, the medium $59.95, and the small $39.95.  These are reasonable prices, in my opinion, relative to other brands with similar offerings for planners of such quality.  There is a flat rate shipping of $19.95 on all international orders and they offer free worldwide shipping on orders totaling over $150, which is very reasonable compared to other international companies I have ordered from.

OJ_OLJ_10-10-2014_05

I also ordered a few of the Leather Personal Planners that kikki.K offers to see what they are like.  These only come in one size, which is comparable to the large Time Planner or an A5 planner.  The lilac and gold editions are made from the same quality leather that is smooth with a slight sheen and visible grain.  The black option is a textured leather.  The interior of the planners are lined in a black fabric with small white diamonds like the pattern on the Time Planners.  The Personal Planners include a snap closure.

OJ_OLJ_10-10-2014_06

The interior layout is practically identical to the large Time Planner with the same built in organization slip and zip pockets on the front inner flap and the slide-in notepad in the back.  The Personal Planner also comes stocked with a smaller “Today” notepad that’s tucked into the front flap.    There are seven dividers included just like the Time Planner but with different categories, with one for the calendar, another for meetings and To Do, and then four blank sections.  The planners come with three sheets of stickers to create custom tabs and to use in the calendar.  Notably there is no included snap-out ruler in the Personal Planner, which in my opinion is sorely missing.  The included month on two pages calendar is left blank so you can customize it yourself.  There is special notepaper for the meetings and to do sections, and then blank lightly lined pages for the other sections.  The Personal Planners come packaged in a beautiful gift box, as opposed to the Time Planners which come in plastic sleeves.  The Personal Planner retails for $79.95 and is also available in a pink textured leather.  They are handsome, well made planners that are not only stylish but extremely versatile in functionality.

OJ_OLJ_10-10-2014_07kikki.K also offers a wide selection of stationery items that are perfect to use with your planner or separately.  I have a few items from their Live Bright collection, which matches the color scheme of both the 2015 Time Planners and Personal Planners:

Every Day Gel Pen: Live Bright

DIY Sticker Book: Live Bright

Adhesive Note Gem: Live Bright

Sticker Sheet: Live Bright

I also picked up a few different accessories that are a bit more on the whimsical side:

Adhesive Notes Set: Cute 2015

Magnetic Page Markers: Cute 2015

Life’s Little Stickers 2015

Travel Notebook 3Pk: Adventure Waits

  1. The kikki.k planners always look so cute 🙂 I can’t wait to try one out for 2015. Thanks for the opportunity to win one.

  2. Hello Jen,

I’ve never owned a planner. However now I do work to a weekly timetable as you suggested sometime ago (which has helped me tremendously -thank you!) Maybe its time to take the plunger, although it does seem like a lot of work to maintain. These lilac and gold planners are soooo lovely though, I really am tempted! Even if I just admire it and stroke it from time to time lol I would be interested to know how your pocket-sized planner is working out for you. I keep my to do lists on A4 and really struggle to keep a track of things if I have to turn a page. Madness I know.

    Mary x

  3. Thank you for doing this! I have been waiting to see a detailed review before ordering a Time Planner 🙂 You rock! I love all your videos- I found you on Youtube and then worked my way back to your awesome blog 🙂

  4. Oooo Jen these planners look AWESOME! And the lilac is SO my color! Thank you so much for reviewing these!
I am definitely going to have to purchase some of the Time Planners! Well I’ll cross my fingers for the give-away too, but I’m never lucky, so I’ll probably be purchasing my own!
Did Kikki.K happen to give you a discount code to share with your viewers for when we want to purchase? I hope so!!

      1. That’s too bad 🙁
I asked Kikki.K directly on twitter, so we’ll see what they say…
I worry that by the new year they might be all sold out, not to mention that it would be nice to start planning for 2015 before 2015 😉 But thank you for that tip!

        1. I was able to buy all three sizes of last year’s planners in February…I did have to email kikki.K customer service to find a few in stores. They were great about shipping to me, I just had to call the stores directly.

  5. Awesome planners! I loved the way they gave ideas of how to decorate them. There was actually 1 video out of the 3 that I liked more! Thank you to kikki.k for allowing you to share this awesome planner with 4 lucky winners. Also Jen thank you so much for all the videos you do!! Love your Italy trip videos and all of you organization videos!! Thanks again!!!

  6. Thank you for the detailed review! I’ve always loved looking at all of the Kikki.K products online, but with the overseas shipping cost I was afraid that I would end up not liking them, since there aren’t many detailed reviews out there. I absolutely love the medium size, perfect for on-the-go and the lavender/gold combo is to die for!

  7. What a great giveaway! I’ve been wanting to buy a medium lilac from Kikki K but they’ve been sold out on the site these last few weeks! It’ll be so great to win one! Thank you for the chance.

  8. Hi Jen.
SO beautiful! I made the decision to use a personal planner this morning and came to your website to check out the Erin Condren Life Planner and found this! Love your videos Jen. You’re doing a great job! Thanks so much for all of your sharing. It’s helped so much for those of us who haven’t had people in our lives to share and instruct us on many basic things! Thanks also for sharing with us how to ENJOY life!!! Have a great weekend & good luck to everybody else!

  9. I love that you always do such detailed videos and posts about this stuff, Jen! You are so generous and thoughtful also, your posts and videos always put me a good mood! 🙂

  10. So glad to see this review. Love the colors. Thank you for all your hard work on it, they were so many and wonderful to see them side by side.

  11. Hi Jen,
I love all of your planner blogs and videos. This planner set you showed was very nice, but just a little too expensive for my budget.
Have you ever considered reviewing or using the Arc Notebook system by Staples? Overall, the entire system is very budget friendly. I have two Arc notebooks. I love them because they are all customizable. Here is a short 50 second Youtube video about them.

I would love to hear what you think.
    Thanks.

  12. Lovely planners, I’m starting to look into the planner I want to use for 2015, I need a whole new series I’ve decided. I love the colours and layouts of these Kikki K ones, the lilac is SO pretty! I also love all the sections. They remind me SO much of filofax but look a little less bulky?

  14. What a fantastic giveaway…I am contemplating between this planner and the Kate Spade agenda for 2015. Thank you for the review and insight into kikki.k

  15. Oh, it´s so cute! I had to try to participate to this amazing giveaway, my heart had a strong desire for this planner in my favourite pastel violet colour ♥

  16. They are just a great company, with beautiful quality products and from my experience, wonderful staff. Makes the experience that much better. Thanks Jen and Kikki K for a generous giveaway. x

  17. They’re such beautiful planners! I wish I had discovered them last year in time to get a mint one…Crossing my fingers next year is blue or red 🙂

  18. Kikki.K have such beautiful stationery. Their stores are full of eye candy 🙂 I would so love to win a 2015 planner!!!! Thanks for the chance to win one.

  19. I actually stumbled upon your blog while researching the Kikki K and other planners- and now I am wondering what did I do before your blog and youtube channels!

I just ordered my Kikki K personal planner- since I signed up through their email list they sent me a $10 off code which technically made shipping free! If anyone is looking for a discount try doing that. 🙂

  20. Hi Jen, these planners look great! I love the week on two pages, but I would add the day on two pages too. I just really like those. This is my first time here, and I love your blog and videos. I have a plain cheap binder, but would love a pretty leather one, and these are gorgeous! Thanks to you and Kiki.k for having the giveaway!

  21. Hi Jen, I love your channels and I think these planners are great
It would be amazing to win one as I live in the uk and would love
To hear from you , I also have a shih tzu called Lola and evey
Thing I do with Lola is what I learnt from you and Winnie would love
To win the planner and to hear back thank you xxx

  22. OMG I’m in love with kikki k 🙂 Thank you for making this video’s and stuff about it! 🙂 because i finnaly found a good video that shows the timeplanners and personal planners 😀

  23. Dearest Jen,

Thanks so much for sharing about these planners!! I really LOVE personal planners!! I am a bit older…but my first planner was a little 3 ring notebook my friend made in high school as a gift. After that I was hooked!! So though I am only “29” 😉 I have enjoyed planners for over 30 years!! With two kiddos in college now and my last one still homeschooling…I had to purchase for the first time in years a lovely little inexpensive one from Walmart. It works well and I have decorated like my Erin Condren but it has it’s limitations!! 🙂 Good for the creative soul!! 😉

I have always wondered about the kikki k ones. They are LOVELY!! Honestly when all my 3 blessings get through with their academic endeavors…Mommy’s gonna dive back into the world of “fancier” planners and kikki k is top on my list!! I love the medium size planner and the pocket one. They both look so perfect for usage. And I also LOVE that they are lined in leather. I’m a bit of a crafty person and love “wipe-able” surfaces with room to add the personal touch!! I can make a mess quick so the interior design of the ones with the straps are great!! 😉 Also on a small hobby farm in the south and it seems I am always needing more space to plan and I like the simplicity of the pages with good use of space. 🙂 Life is a blessing and the organization planners give are invaluable especially in my little craft business, farm and homeschooling!!

Please keep these videos coming!! I LOVE all the organizational ones!! That is how I first discovered you years ago. I am an avid follower of all your channels and have learned so many lovely things you have shared. Keep on educating us. As a teacher by profession I appreciate your thorough research and generosity of information and spirit in each video!! You would do well in academic evaluations!! 😉 I loved helping and training my teachers and you would have been a teacher I would have asked to lead trainings!! So keep up the great work!!

Have a lovely weekend, best wishes to you and your family and again..thank you for all your share!!
    k

  24. Hello, I love your blog :-)! Can you please tell me what’s on the expenses sheet (like which columns)? I can’t tell form the photos, thanks 🙂

  25. Oh no! I am so upset I missed the giveaway! I fell in love with planners ever since I received one in 6th grade (17 years of obsessive planning). I’m starting grad school in a couple of months and I have been researching all kinds of planners and came across the Kikki K on your YouTube and blog. Now I’ve been pining after a Kikki K planner!!! Maybe I will get one for Christmas 😉 thank you so much for your detailed videos and blog posts!!

  26. I just wanted to say thank you so much for this detailed review. I am lucky enough to have friends who live near a Kikki store and I have visited before but haven’t seen the new line up for the planners. Your review was extremely thorough and I have made up my mind on the planner but now I just have the super hard decision on which colour to choose. 😀

    Thank you so much 🙂

  27. Hey Jen, Love your videos on You Tube.
I have been thinking of getting a planner for a while now. I’ve started a new nutritional Business recently and so far it’s just in the beginner stages, but I seem to forget a lot since I’m always thinking about too many things at once. I was wondering what would be the perfect planner for beginner like me (the last planner I had was 10 years ago that my high school had provided. lol). There are so many options out there ranging in prices from Target to Filofax even GiGi New York. I don’t want to get caught up into a pricey planner just for the pretty look if I don’t really need to. I need something to write ideas for my business, doctor’s appointments & school events for my child, also a place to write down fitness/business goals, and it’s also important that I keep a food log, also travel plans. Please help… too many options, no ideas on what to do.
Thank you, for taking the time to provided all of us with your ideas and opinions.

  28. I love your blog! Great review of the Kikki K planners 🙂

I am definitely thinking about purchasing one as a birthday present to myself lol

I like the look of the personal planner more than the large time planner. Do the time planner refills fit in the personal planner?

    Thank you!:)

  29. Does anybody know how to get stuff from the Live Bright collection in the USA when the website says “in store only” on almost everything???

    1. You can email their customer service and inquire. Most stores will ship to you but you have to call them long distance to place the order.

  30. Love these planners and trying to decide on the personal snap closure planner vs the medium lilac time planner

The medium one is definitely more portable – any info on the weight difference between the two….inhave a larger cross body bag so the space would not be an issue but wondering about the weight as the Kikki k look a bit less bulky to me vs Filofax in the a5 size

  31. Hi Jen!

I’m debating between the large vs medium time planner. I want something to help me organize my blog, as well as minor details of my personal life- nothing major there. Which size would you choose? I’m leaning toward the large, but I’m curious what your thoughts are on the medium?

Thanks! I love all of your content and can’t wait to see the new changes you’re making 🙂

    1. Planner size is a very personal thing. I like a lot of space for planning out my posts and videos which is why I use my ECLP (A5 comparable size) for that. You might find the personal worked great for you. You can test out what paper size you prefer by just cutting out the different sizes from scrap paper to get a feel before you invest in a planner.

  32. “The large Time Planner retails for $79.95, the medium $59.95, and the small $39.95. These are reasonable prices, in my opinion,”

    ARE YOU INSANE?

  33. I’m so mad that I only just now found these!! I can’t find one for sale anywhere 🙁 These are just too cute!

  34. Hello,

I have never owned one of these planners. I would love to have one as I desperately need help in organizing. Thank you for your consideration.

  35. do You Think they Will do a 15/16 personal planner collection? I just fall in love with the large black personal planner, and it’s sold out.. But thank your lovely ‘review ‘
    Xx

  36. Hi Jen. It’s 2017 and I’m reviewing videos to purchase a Kiki-k online. Before I do that I thought since you had reviewed a few A5 sizes do you still have any? I don’t need the inserts and will pay for the planner and any cost to ship to me. If you have some and willing to sell please email me at vmjjunk@hotmail.com. Thanks.
