June 2014 Ipsy Bag

I’m back with an Ipsy update! If you’re unfamiliar, Ipsy is a monthly subscription service where you receive between 4 to 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products for $10 per month (this includes shipping within the US. Ipsy also ships to Canada for an extra $4.95 per month).

The June Ipsy bag theme is Pretty In Paradise.  The picture of the surfer gal leads me to believe this is a beach themed beauty bag, although when looking at the products it seems more like a “summer staples” sort of theme to me.  I do love the cute Rebecca Minkoff bag!

What’s in my June Ipsy bag?

Realtree For Her Eau de Parfum – This perfume’s scent description is rather detailed: “…opens up with the sweet taste of pomegranate, a hint of persimmon and an exotic scent of orchids. It blends with lotus blossom and champaca flower and it’s followed by the rich scent of amber, the transient scent of violets and the depth of mahogany wood.”  To me, it smells very bright and a bit fruity.

Nyx Butter Gloss – I love the Butter Gloss formula and was very excited to see the Crème Brûlée shade in my bag.  This light, natural pink is perfect year round!  I have a couple of different shades in my stash already.  The formula is long-lasting without being overly tacky, which I like.

Be A Bombshell Lash Out Mascara – It’s always fun to try out new mascaras!  This one is marketed as “lengthening.”  We’ll see if the non-waterproof formula holds up to my oily skin!

Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray – As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, beach sprays don’t usually work in my baby fine hair, but it’s always worth a try.  You never know!  Plus, this one smells amazingly like piña coladas!

Ofra Universal Eyebrow Pencil – This eyebrow pencil shade is supposed to “suit all skin tones,” but it seems a bit dark to me to suit all eyebrow hair shades.  Nevertheless, it might just work for my dark brows and I will definitely give it, and all of the other products in this bag, a try!

Check out my coordinating video to see my review of the May bag and catch my reactions to this month’s selections:

I will be back next month with my thoughts on the June bag as well as a look at July’s goodies.   I’d love to know what you got in your June Ipsy bag if you are a subscriber as well!

  1. I would say that it seems like it might be better for you to part ways with Ipsy – when you do your other “open box” videos, you’re bursting with excitement and with Ipsy it’s kinda of “meah…” It might be more fun even for you to try a new subscription box; although I missed your Eco Emi boxes, seeing how super excited the Must Have makes you, I wish you would have tried it sooner! 🙂
I know you said in your video that some viewers enjoy the Ipsy open box videos, but I’ve come to realize that you need to film the things that you’re genuinely happy about – and this box doesn’t seem that it’s as fun as the other for you.
Maybe try a healthy foods box? 😀 Or whatever you find interesting, I look forward to your videos all the time 🙂

  2. My second comment, sorry!! I love your Filofax and planner videos, I’m a stationery fanatic, I’d love to see you do a stationery haul!!

  3. I’ve been thinking of giving up the Ipsy bag myself…I love the bags but most of the products I’m not really liking. I think for me it’s time to move on. I do enjoy the Must Have boxes & look forward to those, it’s like a surprise gift every month & I love it!!!

  4. I think it’s time to give it up. the only things you seem excited about are the items you already know you like….and now that you have the fabulous popsugar boxes, I feel like ipsy pales in comparison. 🙂

  5. I love the bag itself. I got some of the same things including the eyebrow pencil and the perfume. I will probably not use the eyebrow pencil. I think the perfume is strong smelling but I like the floral scents. I haven’t actually tried wearing it yet. Sometimes scents are a little different wearing them then what they smell like on their own. I love the idea of giving those items away.

  6. I love the bag and the products but your seem really not as happy as other products you get. I think I would really discontinue the subscription if you are giving away to bloggers / family than you are keeping… Just a thought.
I would not mind getting products from you in a giveaway if they are slightly used. I’m fine with that.

Love your videos and honesty. Hugs
