Ipsy Update – March 2014

I’m back with an Ipsy update at long last!  I apologize for skipping a month, as I unfortunately failed to update my billing info for my Ipsy account in time to receive the February bag.  Did any of you receive it?  I’m curious what was in it.  Feel free to share if you did!  I am happy to be back on my Ipsy subscription and that I can share my March bag with you.

The theme of the March Ipsy Bag is Destination Beauty, which is fitting since March is typically when resort collections and spring break items launch.  Ipsy also launched a new Artist Series this month, featuring art by Klari Reis as the print on this month’s bag.  Even though this month’s print doesn’t suit my personal aesthetic, I think it’s great that Ipsy is working to help artists get more exposure.

What’s in my March Ipsy bag?

✻  Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar Body Butter – I’ve used and loved Pacifica body butters for years now, and the Indian Coconut Nectar scent is one of my favorites!

Nicole by OPI Nail Polish in  On What Grounds? – I love it when there is polish in my beauty subscriptions!  This Nicole by OPI shade is a textured polish, which isn’t my usual favorite, but it’s always fun to try something new!  Plus, I love the robin’s egg blue color.

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Bora Bora Eyeshadow Quad – The perfect eyeshadow quad for a resort-themed box!  Love the vibrant shimmery tropical colors.

bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready – What a beautiful shade of pink for spring!  It’s not too light and not too dark; just perfect!  I’ve been using & loving a couple of limited edition Marvelous Moxie lipsticks lately.  They are so pigmented and creamy!  Can’t wait to try out this beauty for spring.

  1. They only sent 4 products this month Jen so our not missing anything. I wanted the body butter but got the pixi primer instead so I think I’ll buy 1 to take on vacation next month.

  2. I was disappointed as well with January’s bag. I think I gave my oldest daughter the lipstick I got, it sdid not go with my complexion, she is darker and it worked perfectly for her. The wipes, I ended up using to wipe my hands off as I was doing my make up when switching from foundation to eye shadow. They worked fine for that. Didn’t want to use them on my face. March’s bag I was happier with. I got the same eyeshadow and nail polish, but instead of lipstick I got the bare minerals lip gloss. Its a nice neutral color. Great for everyday make up look. And I also received two Korlane eye treatment packs. Haven’t used them yet.

  3. Hello Jen and fellow subbies,
Anyone have any idea how long one is on the wait list for Ipsy? Thank you in advance… Jackie

    1. It took me quite a few months. I kept getting emails that said I could be off sooner if I shared their link with friends via Facebook. Which I choose not to do.

  4. Jen,

Thanks so much for doing these videos. I cannot afford an Ipsy subscription at this time, so I love being able to see what you get each month and live vicariously through you :-). I love the print on the bag you received, but I understand what you mean about each print being a matter of personal taste.

Anyway, thanks for doing this, I really enjoy the videos and hearing what you think of the products. I continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope that things will be looking up for you soon.

  5. Hey Jen, great post. I didn’t get my January IPSY bag either last month. I moved and forwarded my address. I got my Birch Box but IPSY never came. I did some other youtubers say that they didn’t get their bags either so maybe something happened on their end?

Your box for this month looks awesome, mine was good but I got different products than you did. I will be doing a blog and youtube post this week so please check it out.

BTW, your blog and videos always inspire me and put a happy smile on my face,

  6. I love ipsy! I loved how they used a local artist to design the March 2014 bag! For my March bag I received the BareMinerals lipstick, Chella eyeliner, Bora eyeshadow quad, and a luxury tan. For $10 per month with free shipping you get 4-5 high end cosmetics with a cute reusable makeup bag! A fun way to treat yourself every month on a budget.
