Ipsy Update – April 2014

I’m back with an Ipsy update!  If you’re unfamiliar, Ipsy is a monthly subscription service where you receive between 4 to 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products for $10 per month (this includes shipping within the US.  Ipsy also ships to Canada for an extra $4.95 per month).

The April Ipsy bag theme is Beauty Rocks, which is inspired by the return of the music festival season.

What’s in my April Ipsy bag?

Such A Tease So Seductive Lashes – These are some lashes!  I don’t wear fake lashes often but it’s always nice to have a flirty pair like these on hand for special occasions.  I love the warning issued on the back of the box: “Caution: You may be approached by more men than usual while wearing these lashes.”

Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm in #12 Apple Pink – I’m usually not a fan on tinted lip balm in a pot, because I don’t like having to carry around a lip brush with me.  This packaging is so clever with the lip brush built right into the funny cap of the pot!  It’s such an innovative design!

Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil in Black Velvet – I am very particular when it comes to pencil liners and the Urban Decay 24/7 line is one of only a few that makes the cut for me.  I am excited to try out this new velvet formula!

Rainbow Honey Nail Polish in Midnight Fountain – I like receiving this beauty subscription because it introduces me to new brands I have never tried before.  I like it even more when it’s fun nail polish!  I love the color and sparkle of this sapphire blue glitter polish.  I can’t wait to see how it looks on my nails!

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant – Deluxe sample sizes like this are the perfect way to try out to skincare.  I love testing out face scrubs in the shower!  I am excited to see how I like this one.

I will be back next month with my thoughts on the April bag as well as a look at May’s goodies.   I’d love to know what you got in your April Ipsy bag if you are a subscriber as well!

  1. Oh my goodnesssss – my hubby is going to kill me! You have gotten me into so much trouble lately, first with the Popsugar sub, and then the Julep (I AM a nail polish junkie!) and now this! I need to go back to being uninformed about all these marvelous deals out there! 🙂

  2. I didn’t get the lip product or the lashes. I got the Big Hair foaming spray (which unfortunetely is not for women of color…lol) and the Mary Kay lipgloss. I think last months Ipsy bag was my favorite of the two. I’m really tempted by the Pop Sugar box but my husband will probably have a cow. LOL

  3. Your selection is WAY better than what I got! I got a crazy, neon pink lip balm that I will be throwing away; I don’t know anyone who could pull the color off. I hate to waste, but it’s really ugly. Your color is really pretty. I didn’t get the exfoliation sample, which I would have loved. Bummer!

  4. I love ipsy! It is so much fun to try out 4-5 different high end makeup products every month in a cute new makeup bag, for only $10. Last month I received Benefit lollitint, Cailyn lip balm, Urban Decay eyeliner, City Color eyeshadow, and KISS lashes! You can become a part of the ipsy community here http://www.ipsy.com/r/73vuj
