Buzzworthy: LycheeKiss

I wanted to share another of my new favorite Etsy finds, a lovely shop called LycheeKiss owned and run by a lovely lady, Michelle.  Michelle handcrafts each piece available in her shop from her home in Hawaii.  Her designs are unique and dainty, and she offers some customizable options.  I’ve been expanding my jewelry collection over the past few months to include a few more summery pieces.  I absolutely love my little whale necklace from Dogeared and wanted a bracelet to match.  I was searching for “whale jewelry” on Etsy when I stumbled across LycheeKiss.  I was immediately drawn in by the beautiful jewelry in Michelle’s shop, in particular a dainty Whale Banner bracelet she had crafted.  This was exactly what I had in mind when I began my search!

OJ|TBBB 8:7:2013_1I was excited I could customize the banner in the bracelet with whatever words or initials I wanted.  I chose to have the word FAITH inscribed in the bracelet.  After deciding on what color leather suede I wanted (turquoise), I placed my order, not expecting it to arrive for at least a couple of weeks, considering it was a handmade, customizable piece.  Once again, an Etsy shop owner surprised me with extremely fast service!  I had my new whale bracelet within a week!  The packaging was too cute.  I love how Michelle wraps each piece in a sweet, custom embellished box.  It’s truly like opening a gift!  The yummy candy is a nice touch as well.  I love how she includes the Lychee flavor to tie in with her business name!

OJ|TBBB 8:7:2013_2My little Whale Banner bracelet is absolutely perfect!  I love how dainty it is.  It’s perfect for layering or worn on its own.  Between the colors and the darling whales, this bracelet has become a popular piece in my jewelry rotation this summer.  There is a small extender chain attached at the clasp, which acts as a dangler with a beautiful tiny crystal at the end (not shown), which completes the look perfectly.  I have worn it so many times already this summer and will treasure it for years to come!

Just as with my last few Etsy experiences, I decided to reach out to the shop owner to see about a possible custom piece.  I wanted a silver version of my banner bracelet, but with sea turtles instead of whales for a little variety.  I messaged Michelle via Etsy and she responded almost immediately saying she had contacted her supplier to see if she could get little sea turtles and provided three options to choose from, including pictures.  I was floored by her fast communication and action!  We started talking about the custom bracelet and she ordered the pieces to make it for me.  I was super excited to be able to yet again get exactly what I was looking for by working one-on-one with an Etsy shop owner!

OJ|TBBB 8:7:2013_3Michelle shipped out my custom sea turtle bracelet almost immediately after she received the supplies.  Her turn around time is impressive!  I couldn’t believe the beautiful outcome.  It’s even more darling than I could have dreamed!  I chose the same color suede and had STEADY inscribed on the sterling silver banner.  The sterling turtles are too cute!  Michelle recommended adding a small pearl to the extender chain to tie in with the sea theme.  It works perfectly!

Both bracelets are exactly what I was hoping for when I turned to Etsy in search of sea life inspired dainty jewelry.  This is what I love most about Etsy: if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for, you can more likely than not find someone who is willing to create it for you (at least in terms of jewelry, in my experience).  Michelle is a talented and extremely dedicated jewelry designer.  Her Etsy shop, LycheeKiss, is absolutely worth a visit even if you’re not in the market for jewelry just to view her beautiful handiwork.  She has very kindly extended a discount code to readers!  Apply code JEN10 at checkout to save 10% off your purchase now through August 31, 2013.

  1. I love both of those bracelets; I noticed the first time you wore one! This is a really nice giveaway, but I’m still headed over to visit the Etsy shop.

  2. Wow those bracelets are so cute, I will have to check the store out. I love Etsy, I am always finding the cutest things there and its fun because so much of it is handmade and unique. Just today I discovered a cute shop called Lady Gatsby Luxe Papers and got 3 beautiful prints that I plan to frame and give as a house warming gift for my best friend who is moving soon. They are all so pretty and so affordable. Another Etsy shop I love is The Pampered Paparazzi they make really nice camera “cozies” and mine was so perfect whenI was in Europe this spring and it rained and also to protect my camera from scratches being thrown in my purse. I ended up buying one for my dad as well since he has the same camera.

  3. Hi Jen – I was just wondering – If you feel like sharing (which you might not! :)), why did you choose to have steady inscribed on one bracelet? I like the idea of a steady reminder…in patience, in attitude, or in perserverance…just wondering what your motivation was. Thanks. I think it’s neat how you come up with unique ways to encourage yourself.

    1. Have you ever heard the saying, “slow and steady wins the race?” – I am the type of person who is constantly moving and like to accomplish things as well but also as quickly as possible so I can fit more into every day. I need to constantly remind myself to slow down. I like the phrase “slow & steady” and when I thought about it more, “steady” really is a perfect mantra for me. Plus, it kind of fit in with the turtle theme. That’s why I picked it 🙂

      1. That is so neat…I never thought to encourage myself in organizing, but that your analogy makes total sense. And in a house with three little ones, steady is just about the only way to succeed! 😉 I never thought to encourage myself in being steady – not just “getting it done” or “doing it right”, which is what I usually focus on. Thank you for your encouragement for many, many people you don’t know like myself who find your insights on homekeeping to be insightful & motivating!
