I cannot believe it is just over one week until Christmas. Yikes! This seems to happen to me every year. I think I’m pretty on top of things in early December and then I blink and suddenly it’s December 17th and I still have Christmas shopping to do, presents to wrap, and cards to send. Oops! 🤪
I’m doing my best to stay on top of my December Daily project and Blogmas, mainly because they both bring me so much joy, but they’re dropping down the priority list as we close in on Christmas. This happens every year and instead of feeling bad about it, I try to do what I can when I can and not worry too much about the rest. It’s really not a big deal if I don’t finish my album until February. And you all know I made a big fuss about no expectations for this Blogmas journey. I’ll do my best to keep on documenting and sharing as it feels right.
Going back to last weekend, we went to see the North Shore School of Dance production of The Nutcracker, which is primarily cast with children and a few adults and professionals sprinkled in. It was the first time we attended this performance and ended up being the perfect Nutcracker experience for both the kids and adults in our group.
It was actually Donny’s first theatrical performance attended at home (I count all of the shows he saw at Disney World on our trip last March as theater). He didn’t want to sit in the seat for long, but luckily there was a staircase next to us where we camped out for much of the show (we were up towards the back of the theater which was convenient so we didn’t disturb anyone while we moved around). We ended the evening with a lovely meal out together. Everyone enjoyed the show, ate well, and had fun. A holiday win on all accounts!
I decided to document with a two page spread and included the cover of the program to break up all of the photo heavy pages. I actually had to scan this in to my computer, size it down, and print it since the program page was much bigger than the album could fit.
I noticed I’ve been using a lot of tags and 3×8 page protectors between 6×8 size pages this year. I guess I’m just in a tag kind of crafting mood! I formatted a photo of the four cousins with some digital elements to fit on the back of a 4″x8″ tag to highlight that sweet photo. I kept the rest of the spread very simple by adding a few chipboard pieces as embellishments.
I opened up days 4 and 5 of the December Daily advent calendar since I have some major catching up to do there. I didn’t have a use for the items in this particular spread, so I tucked them into my stash for future use.
Ok, folks, I’m off to bed. I hope you’re managing to get in some rest amidst the hustle and the bustle!
Take good care ❤️
