One of the greatest blessings of the holiday season for me is spending time with my family. We were fortunate to share a lovely evening together last night celebrating the season with the kids’ great grandmother, whom we call Nana. I witnessed a very special kind of magic in the sparkle in Nana’s eyes as she observed and enjoyed her great grandchildren. They delighted in singing and dancing for her and delivering hugs and kisses.
I considered manipulating a couple of the December Daily digital templates to fit all of the photos I wanted to include, but I decided to layer a couple of page protectors instead. I printed out the amazing photo of all the kids with Nana in the full 6″x8″ size and then included four 3″x4″ photos in a 3×8 two-pocket page protector.
I did end up adding in a few digital elements I grabbed from the template combo pack, including he “december memories” word art and “the story” blurb box. I love mixing up digital and traditional touches like that.
I opened up Day 3 of the December Daily advent calendar and used one of the chipboard circles in a tab capacity on the 3×8 page protector. I like adding tabs to smaller page protectors or flip up/out sections so those elements don’t get lost in the album when someone else is looking through it. Backing this with star paper that matched what I layered under the number eleven on the 6×8 photo ties the two together visually (or at least that’s what I keep telling myself 😉 ). Lastly, I added a few sparkly stars for a bit of twinkle and called it a day.
I really love the way this spread turned out and feel like it flows nicely from the previous one. I feel like I’m hitting my stride aesthetically with this project now. Maybe I was just feeling rusty the first week? Who knows! I’m just happy I am actually getting it done and really enjoying the process. Like I mentioned yesterday, working on this really helps quiet my mind, which has been especially helpful before bedtime.
Do you have any special family holiday gatherings happening this season? I like that ours are spread out pretty well between mid-November and Christmas. We have something fun to look forward to with our loved ones every week! I’d love to hear about your holiday get togethers if you care to share.
Take good care ❤️
