Aloha! I’m back from our fabulous babymoon trip to Hawaii feeling refreshed and rejuvenated! If you’re not familiar, a babymoon is what people call a trip they take while pregnant before their baby is born. It’s a wonderful way to spend time together as a couple before the family grows. I wanted to share some of my favorite things I used and wore during our vacation with you.

Clothes & Accessories
It was important for me to stay cool and comfortable during our trip. We spent most of the days outside either by the pool or on the beach and in the water. Having maternity swimwear that covered my belly to protect my delicate stretching skin from the sun was a priority for me. Don’t underestimate the comfort of full coverage swim bottoms when pregnant, as well! The weather in Hawaii was a bit hotter and more humid than usual for this time of year, so I made sure to keep my head and feet cool with appropriate accessories. Having a lightweight day dress to throw on when not in my swimwear was a great alternative to wearing capris or shorts with a belly band in the heat.
Sun Care & Body Products
I wanted to be sure I was protecting my skin from sun exposure and keeping it well moisturized during our trip. I made the switch to mineral sunscreen for both my face and body this year with great results. Even though it was humid in Hawaii, I knew my skin would get dried out from all of the time spent in the water, so I brought my favorite Burt’s Bees products to help keep me moisturized day and night.
I decided to fully embrace the laid back vibe of our relaxing babymoon and packed very little makeup with me. I did want to spruce up a bit for our 10th anniversary and a couple of other nights, so having a little makeup with me was nice. I’m happy I didn’t pack more because I ended up going au natural most nights.
I knew I’d have a lot more downtime than I do at home during our trip, so I packed a few baby-related books I’ve been wanting to read. It was so nice to be able to spend time with fun and informative baby reads! I also enjoyed playing with scrapbook-style decorating in my planner while I was on vacation, which is not something I generally make time for when at home.
I talk in more detail about each item in this video:
I’d love to know what your babymoon or vacation essentials are if you care to share!
